DA didn't personally attack anybody, he didn't try to undermine the efforts of a team before the game a la Rex...he's a UK fan who shared his thoughts weeks after the season is over. Maybe, just maybe, his rear also is a bit chapped after losing to Wisconsin and then losing 7 players, at least of which are puzzling.

For crazzed to go personal with it, calling him an idiot and a nobody...I guess that's golden in a twisted sort of way.

...and one on the actual merits of what DA said, which, under the surface, aren't any crazier than anything any of us have suggested sitting on our couch watching the games.

And we debate those crazy things on boards like these every day.

Anderson has the right to say what he said, obviously. We have the right to disagree.

The biggest issue to me was the tenor of what he said. That idea about pushing guys out--that's a Billy Reed line. Anderson might have been playing to his audience a little and just went too far. It's easy when you're talking to people to sometimes say what they want you to say.

In truth Anderson couldn't know whether Calipari was pushing guys to the NBA anymore than any of us. You'd have to be in the room. What I believe Cal does is he lets the families make those decisions. He admits that and I think sometimes he probably disagrees with the decision, but he's said he won't step in and hold players back if they want to jump. He sticks by his word even though it makes his own job a little harder.

His assessment of Cal pushing people out the door, not coaching, or not teaching seems to go against the obvious facts about what Cal and his players say and do. UK fans say stuff like this all the time. I don't think his comments are any big deal though.

It seems like he might not realize or appreciate how college basketball and the NBA has changed since he was in. Or perhaps he doesn't recognize the most relevant implications of the change.

I don't disagree with all he said but some of it was stupid. Complaining about Willie not playing against UCONN (duh) and how his beloved Pitino's coaching effort beat them by 30 points. He forgot to mention Cal's UK team beat Pitino that same year.

I have been a big critic of Cal's offense because I think it sucks honestly, but going overboard on a UL show without facts pretty much is insane. Needs to shut his piehole and disappear for a while, IMO. Or maybe he is just doing his former coach's bidding for him. Don't know. Don't care. Just stop.

Matt Jones and company already crushing DA, so naturally the masses are all over him for his comments. I think Jones is more peeved that DA did this on someone else's show, a Louisville show, and they are the ones blowing it up to make Anderson look like a bad guy here.

I am the furthest thing from a Jones fan but this is nonsense, IMO. He looks like the bad guy because of what he said, how he said it and and where he said it.

I agree, he desperately needs to change. 6 Final Fours (at 3 schools), 3 title game appearances, 1 national title, 600 wins, Hall of Fame induction....there are hundreds, maybe thousands of other guys just like that.

He was/is being an idiot for the things he said. Cal pushes players out, not coaching, not teaching, WCS should have helped guard Nappier (WCS was hurt, remember) are all idiotic things to say. ESPECIALLY when he admitted he is having trouble getting into coaching and Cal has been trying to help him do so for almost 2 years.

Cal has reiterated numerous times that he never pushes them out, and I think people think that him not begging them to stay is pushing them out. He even said this year, he wished they'd all come back, of course that was a little sarcastic but if you don't think he would love to have all his players for at least two years you are nuts. All he can do is be honest with them and make sure they know that it's going to be a hard transition, but if a kid wants to go, you have to let him. If a kid is not in it 100% why would we want him back anyways?

Having an opinion on the way things are going still doesn't make him a nobody, crazzed. I do think that either you or myself want to begin comparing resumes with him...right? Are both of us complete nobodies as well?

I think the choice of venue stunk but I still think DA has a right to his opinion...and I freely admit that I'm skewed because he's my favorite Cat of all time. He was simply electric.
