Great win for the guys and the fans, Toppin shut down Bryce and Oscar did what we needed him to do, rebound like a madman.
I truly believe if CJ can hit one just one 3, he can contribute, its all mental at this point.

    Thought Collins played pretty decent

Can’t really agree. If CJ plays 10-12 minutes, goes 1-3 from three and gives up 15 points—that’s not a contribution. Or, not a good one. In his condition his defense is like the barrel a training coach puts on the floor in practice to represent a defender. Can’t play him. The shooting may be mental but the defense is 100% physical.

He’s a broken player, sadly. Get some spot minutes out of him when you can, but expect nothing.

Not trying to bash Collins, effort is there, he’s just too weak to battle with grown men.

And I pull for CJ more than anyone else, but the guy can’t make a shot or defend, if we’re counting on him for minutes we won’t win. Honestly after he barely rolled his ankle tonight I’ll bet money he won’t be available Sunday.

Looking on to our next game. We shot 38% tonight. That's not good enough to win against the parity in this tournament.

Agree. I don't think either one really provides anything. Collins isn't good. Too frail, out of position most of the time and can the dude ever play with his hands up? As for CJ, I like the kid but he just needs to get to the end of the season, get married, and start his career. He might be a worse shooter than Brad.

Perry Stephenson would disagree, maybe even Jules Camara 😆

All I need out of CJ is that one game Cameron Mills performance at the right moment, that's all I am asking 😆 🤣

It was ugly (I swear something is still wrong with those rims) but a win is a win, survive and advance! We could be Purdue...St Peter's is now a distance memory, everyone is gonna be talking about Purdue going down to FDU for awhile-Lol It was just good to get that first round monkey off our backs after all these years!

CONGRATS CATS!!!!!!!!!!!! No bad luck from watching live. Was able to keep from getting too frustrated because of the Purdue game. Took my attention to other things. Having the multiple TV's really helped.

Great win by a team under a tremendous amount of pressure. First game in tourney is always hard. Toppin had his best all around game as a Cat today IMO. Oscar was a beast underneath and Reeves was a catalyst. Wallace not so hot but didn't do anything to beat us. Livingston played hard, needs to score about a half dozen more to make us really tough. We have no bench, Frederick is an empty uniform right now and Collins just not strong enough to compete at Tourney level. If we can stay out of foul trouble we could get to Sweet 16, if wevhave to go to bench much not so sure

I thought Collins gave us some pretty good minutes when Oscar went out actually. Not a bad run from him.

And yeah, Kentucky did what it absolutely had to do. Now it'll be about getting some luck because I don't think we beat Kansas St. if they play like they have for most of the season. Gonna have to have a fluke at this point.

Oh, and the most interesting thing I saw was the quote from Cal and the players after the game that the players took their headphones off in the pregame meal and actually talked to each other for the first time this year.

So interesting and it says so much about why Kentucky has been up and down, particularly on the defensive end.

They’re liable to destroy Oscar by cutting to the basket left and right.

Kyjuante Johnson is an interesting match-up for Toppin.
