​WildcatRick called me the other day and told me about SamCat. Rick posted this on Facebook and told me about it today. Sam Passed away on November 17, 2021 and nobody knew. Sam was as passionate about UK Basketball as any of us and a long time member of WCF and WCN.

I spoke to Sam several times over the years. He was a writer and put together more than one book about UK fans, including a book he compiled from posts here.

Actually met Sam at an SEC tournament many years ago. Sad to hear of his passing. RIP.

Sam and Jeanie were regulars at the SEC tournament. Back then Granpappy Rick would arrange a block of rooms for WCF members and we had a meeting room were we gathered and got to know each other. Sam was a hit the first time I met him, and we looked forward to seeing each other every year. He and Jeanie were the kindness folks.
