    Tennessee vs. Kentucky: Game Thread

So the Cats try to fully save their season today. Tennessee is coming off its biggest win of the year, but in the four previous games before Alabama they lost three and won the fourth by 1 point. The Alabama win was surprising to a lot of people.

Tennessee remains the best defensive team in the country. In Kentucky's win in Knoxville they got a huge game from Uros Plavsic, who scored 19. He's scored 29 points total in all the games since. You know Kentucky is going to get a steady dose of him today, as well as Santiago Vescovi flopping around all over the court.

The game is at 1:00 on CBS.

A little surprised the spread is 2.5. Thought UT would be at least 5 to 7

Neither here nor there, but I have a controversial theory about Vescovi.

I think he's older than they say he is.

Tennessee claimed he was 19 when they discovered him in Uruguay. He looked to me at least 25.

This is controversial because I told my 23-year-old niece this and she said she thought his age is probably right. So I could be wrong! I'm getting old myself and going slightly blind!

But I still think there were some shenanigans afoot.

Will continue my streak of not watching. Hope we play good. Will check in this afternoon around 4 or so to see how it went. You all have fun discussing.

Matt Jones suggests on his pregame show that Sahvir Wheeler might be done for the season.

          Somewhere Ratt rejoices.

I believe he and Perry Ellis from Kansas graduated high school the same year 😂

Bummer. I thought he played pretty well the last time out.

Makes a thin team even thinner.

They're honoring the '96, '97, and '98 teams today. Magical years.

There's a little clip in there of Nazr's shot at Vanderbilt. One of the wilder UK moments ever. I remember watching it in my dorm room. Went crazy.

Tennessee isn't playing great basketball, but neither are we, of course.

I think Vescovi has the good game today that he didn't have in Knoxville and Plavishishihekjfxh scores 100 on Oscar.

Another big, fat Rupp L on deck.

That Nazr shot joins the Dirk Minnifield dunk as one of the strangest shots I've ever seen in basketball. In both cases, it seems that the players broke scientific laws; Minnifield literally took a second leap off of thin air, and it doesn't appear that Nazr ever really shot the ball, certainly not in a way that would allow it to perfectly kiss off the backboard.

Will miss most of the game due to 1 pm tip, hope the Cats can pull it out today. I do have the game set to record but win or lose probably won't even watch it. Good luck today we need it if we are going to find a way to play in the NCAA tournament this year...

Sort of crazy how difficult it is for Oscar to get a foul call.
