I think they could've picked some better representatives. Baker is cool but we've already heard Rex. Tony Delk, Sky Walker, Dan Issel, or Mash would've been awesome if you ask me.

According to this prosecutors haves ent this back for additional information. They have seven years to file formal charges. Its still an embarrasment with all of this still hanging over his head.

Not only did he embarrass himself by tweeting stupidity before last years final game but he was caught red handed stealing I-Phones and other stuff from retail stores. Really, really stupid of Turner/CBS/NCAA for having him do this game. Suffice it to say I won't be watching or recording that on Saturday night. Thank goodness Raferty is doing the national telecast.

Yep, bout time we get Raferty for the game.

Tony Delk, Bowie, or even Kenny Walker would have been a better choice than Chapman. Chapman was my favorite player of all time and I do believe in second chances but at this point, it's too early to tell.

Nearly as helpful as some of the comments regarding Barker's Brawl, aka "glad we got some REAL SEC players now, gee golly!"

Hopefully Turner will fold and can Rex from this broadcast.

I drank beer, chased women, and lived like a damn rockstar. I never stole a penny from anyone and If I can't get it on my own, I don't want it and sure in the hell ain't asking no one for ****.........

As for Rex, I can understand how someone with money, fortune, and fame could easily get addicted to drugs with all the temptations that exist in this world. I think it's a little too early to tell if Rex has changed his life but I do believe in second chances and hopefully all this was a life changing experience for him. For all we know, Rex may come out on air and flat out apologize to the BBN during the telecast for his remarks about Cal to the NBA and his own personal problems. I have to believe that Baker was at least consulted on this before TNT made the announcement. Maybe Rex has changed and if he has, good for him....

Heard on the radio this morning that the reason Chapman may have been asked to do it is because he has a previous relationship with Turner Broadcasting as an NBA analyst.

I don't have many thoughts about the Apple Store incident; he hasn't been charged, and I'm willing to suspend disbelief on that one.

The Calipari-to-the-Lakers thing is a bigger deal. That was just all kinds of bizarre. He seemed to be doing a lot of erratic (and sometimes hilarious) things on Twitter and his website months before that. He's just an unusual guy who can be wildly entertaining, but he definitely isn't like a lot of Kentucky fans. They could've chosen somebody far more "like us," but they didn't go that way.

I won't watch--not that it would matter. I haven't heard a commentator say a word in a decade. We scream at the TV like animals.

I probably wasn't going to watch the teamcast thing anyways, but now I definitely will not listen. Rex is a douche and ruined the national title game for me.

And I agree with the suggestion of Mashburn, as I think he's not only a decent announcer but also an elite representative of the Cats.

With Rex, it wasn't the personal issues, but more of just how WEIRD things became. All of manic online activity, the fight picking he engaged in, fabricating lies about fan obsession, the comments he's made on race, his YouTube channel, it was simply WEIRD.

I guess it's fitting that the dog I named Rex has been wild as bleep from day 1, and doesn't show any signs of slowing down, ha!

I'm not sure that was a lie. That seemed like something that a UK fan might do.

The weird thing about it was (a) why didn't Chapman just block the guy, and (b) why he chose to handle it by calling him out so publicly like that.

It was one in a piece with some of the other fascinatingly bizarre things he did over about a six-month stretch last year.
