The only one who played any semblance of defense was Oscar. Why Brooks was on the floor and Toppn was on the bench at the end is puzzling.

Before season started everyone said cal is going to. CHange his offensive philosophy, play 4 guards Oscar and open it up.Unfortunately he quickly learned that the guards we had were either wildly inconsistent shooters or very poor shooters. In the end the end only reliable place he could go for bucket was Oscar down low. . The other thing that he DIDN'T change was that his offense is predicated on players being able to create their own shot, only Wheeler was capable of it, occasionally Toppin, but both were wildly inconsistant.. He has never run complex sets to get shooters open, if they can't get open on their own they are out of luck. I enjoyed most of this season but I never thought noticed this club would make a tournament run, just didn't shoot the ball well enough. Finally I must point out how SICK I am of watching his teams get a small lead with about 3 minutes to go and then go scoreless down the stretch. Happened in tourney at least 4 times inCal Era and we lost every time. when the St Peters coach went into a zone late and we OBVIOUSLY had no clue how to attack it WHY he didn't call time out and try to set something up baffles meLast edited by Jload; 03-17-2022, 11:03 PM.👍 1Comment

This is exactly the team I knew it was and have been on all along. Oscar is the star. W/O him, this team wouldn’t have even made the tournament. Wheeler is the 1st and main problem. He’s not good and was terrible again. Can’t shoot, always getting beat on D or chasing his guy, and so many bad passes. When the games get tight, he crumbles. KeBron is lazy. Reminds me of EJ. Hope he transfers. Grady just soft.
I love Cal but it’s over. He’s got to go. The constant refusals to call a TO to setup a play is absolute garbage. His offense is garbage, and he assembled this roster. UK needs a new start no matter what the next regimen looks like.Comment

I’m indifferent about Cal. Cal has been great for UK but it’s growing stale and it doesn’t feel like it’s ever gonna get any better.
I joked earlier that the bright side of this team winning is they can’t let me down again - well that’s accurate. I can’t get frustrated at this team anymore at least.
Once again we’re at a crossroads with Cal.👍 3Comment

If Cal leaves, I'm OK with it. If he stays, I'll support him and hope he can bring enough 5*'s to overcome his lack of coaching ability. He had a good staff this year, but they didn't help much.John 3:3

As others have said, why is Keon ever playing over Toppin???Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them...he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.RIP: Charlie MungerOriginally posted by Robert “Hoot†GibsonNo matter how bad things may seem, you can always make them worse.Comment

Doesn’t look good, and it hasn’t for a long time. I hate to say that, but it’s true.Last edited by capcat; 03-18-2022, 12:23 AM.Comment

I do find it interesting hearing the different factions of the UK fanbase after the game last night.
Matt Jones' postgame callers all essentially were sad, and angry, but realistic re: Cal. Same on this board.
But one look at Rupp's Rafters? Oh my goodness.

I really don't understand the logic of making fun of a program that's in a better position than the one you cheer for.👍 2Comment

Because he’s on the hot seat and he’s desperate to do anything to get the fans on his side, even if that means people are gonna dunk on him for it.
