Those early-to-mid 90s games against Arkansas are some of my earliest memories as a fan. In a way, it kind of makes me wish they were still relevant.

Exactly. Having just joined the SEC they were very brash new kids on the block. Marched in here in Nolan Richardson’s boots. Couldn’t stand them but sure respected their challenge to UK as top dog. I was a tournament regular back then before 3 kids and Atlanta was all blue mist and hog stank.

Sucks that we don't get another shot at Auburn during the regular season. The SEC needs to make them a home and home "rivalry" team for our schedule moving forward. No reason that teams that you know are going to be at the top portion of the conference shouldn't get to play each other twice.

For one thing, it's the East-West thing. There's only so many inter division games to go around. Also, the schedules are made in advance and there's no way of knowing who'll be hot even next season. Next season Auburn might not be nearly as good as they are this season.

The SEC took out East-West in basketball a few years back. It's just one big league.

Lol, yea I guess it's been at least a few years now that each team is given so many "rivalry" teams that they play home and home games with.

I think it's fair to say Auburn will be decent moving forward, my preference would be that our rivalry teams be;
UT
LSU
Auburn
Bama

That would mean we would have to give up Florida as one of our rival games though.

Tennessee of course will always be UK's rival and Florida has since the Donovan era began. In the West, I would like to see Arkansas and Auburn.
