The OP might be referencing an older article. IIRC Tucker did write something about the fans and Cal, but it was weeks ago.

Thanks...I see what he is referencing now. Since it's a paid site I'll just post a little piece of what Tucker says so that we can discuss here what was actually said.

I’ve definitely heard from multiple sources that Calipari has been turned off by a portion of the fan base’s behavior this season — whether it be vitriol over the win-loss record, the Dontaie Allen saga, disgust about the players kneeling during the national anthem and supporting Black Lives Matter

So if Cal is going to make a jump I hope he does it in time to not sabotage us.
Good chance he winds up at Indiana this year.

            Yep, probably so.

              That's a bummer.

I thought if there was anything to this, and I'd strongly guess there is, that the kneeling and BLM matters would probably be among the chief contributors.

But I'd also bet that the Dontaie Allen cries irked the whiz out of him. So much so that Reed Sheppard might be considered a thorn in his side at this point.

It looks to me like only two of the 'issues' mentioned here (W-L record and Donate Allen) have to do with basketball. Maybe he should have just stuck to coaching.

I'm not entirely sure what all was said, but there was a lot of over the top nonsense coming from people upset about it. I could understand why this irked him.

I hope not but could very well be.

I'd kill for Tubby ball right now. The earlier Tubby years. Not the end of his time here when he said that he didn't have to sell the name Kentucky because it sells itself.

I kind of like the Ohio State coach.

                          Me too. He's from Nicholasville.

Not much NCAA Tournament success though, but if Cal leaves we may have no choice but to hire out of that pool.

I've seen nothing from Chris Holtmann that makes me think he would be a suitable coach at Kentucky.

Having the coach of the seventh ranked team in the Big 12 will tickle me pink.

I can't fathom wanting Chris Beard here.

We have a Hall of Fame coach on our sidelines right now, whose career credentials blow any other realistic candidate out of the water. Let's give him a chance to get it right.

Guys like Beard and Holtmann are guys who you take if Cal leaves and none of the huge names (Wright, Few, Stevens, Donovan) want it.

We are in very barren times right now when it comes to coaches. There is no Cal out there, a guy that you can look at and say would be perfect for Kentucky, like there was in 2009.

The stars of the game are all entrenched right now at their schools and have been for years. That's not a great situation if Kentucky is faced with having to hire a coach.

As for whether or not I personally want Cal gone...no. But I really worry we're in trouble because I don't know if the one-and-done thing works like it once did. The tide turned really quick on that experiment because, as noted, we've got guys bailing out now for free agent contracts. That will not work going forward. It just can't.
