I sure would rather Allen have the ball in the corner rather than Boston. Somebody is going to get a great shooter next season.

Tough and inexcusable loss. I thought this team had turned a slight corner. I was wrong.

Also, Askew is terrible and brings nothing to the team.

I’m with you, not sure why I keep getting my hopes up. There’s still a part of me that thinks they can win the sec tourney but I think that’s the bourbon talking.

I'm afraid that since it IS senior day and the team cannot adjust to a switch to a zone or try to force tempo, what we have is maybe a second game exit in the SEC
tourney then see if Gonzaga can carve their way through various Big 10 teams in the NCAA.

UK isn’t winning the SEC tourney, at this point it would require 4 straight wins something this team didn’t do all season.

In my opinion, there's something wrong with this team other than a lack of physicality, poor bb IQ and a lack of talent. Cal said he put Allen in in the second half and told the team to "find him". He said they didn't even look. Toppin said they did look and Fl. was denying him the ball. Either Cal or Toppin is mistaken or they didn't know what they were seeing or ....

This time John Calipari said he told players to get Dontaie Allen the ball and they did not | Your Sports Edge

He reminds me of Ryan Harrow in 2013......young man should have stayed in high school

Yes. Really hard to watch at this point because he tries hard, he wants it, but talent level is unbelievably low.

And this has been discussed to death but I have no idea what Cal was doing with Jackson at the end. Baffling coaching, and to be honest we’ve seen stuff like that all year.

Yeah.....this has been a really strange, strange year. Some was Covid, some was unusually bad either recruiting or evaluation, some really odd coaching moves by Cal...and some just really inopportune bad plays. What was it? ten of the losses UK had the lead in the second half....most of em came down to the LAST shot....looks like law of averages would have been on these kids side on half of those...
                          but it wasnt. Just wasnt.

Cal saying the team was SIX WEEKS behind schedule is pretty shocking. Cant really lay all that on Covid, because EVERYBODY missed out on that....and it looks like Alabama and Arkansas are the cream of the SEC crop. I know Bama has older players....but ya know some of that is a grave we dug ourselves with promoting getting these kids to the pros and EVEN IF THE STAFF KNEW THEY WERENT READY.
UK has built this rep of putting NBA players out in an assembly line....and I can understand NO kid that came here as a highly ranked guy wants to think he isnt good enough to follow in the steps of guys before.

Lets face it....Wenyen Gabriel got a contract. In fact, almost ALL these guys that left early are playing pro somewhere...G league, European, Asian, you name it. Getting paid to play basketball.
It really has left the university struggling for now.

What will really hurt is if more kids jump the shark than is realistic. Truth is, I saw NO ONE yesterday that looked like they were ready for any steps higher. Not basketball IQ wise, not physically, not mentally.

                          I bet it happens though.

I hope some of this team stays, and a couple I wish they would leave now. No really, just frustrated. But we hung in there with a better team than us.

That's the most frustrating part of this entire season. It's not like we have came out and just been dominated every game clearly showing we just don't have the talent, but that hasn't been the case. I'm not looking back at stats, but there hasn't been many games we haven't led by a decent margin, just to give it away at the end. That is what frustrates me the most because there are 5-10 minutes stretches where this team plays like at top 25 team, then we get to the 4:00 minute mark and we look like a fringe NIT team.

Think a lot of it goes back to erratic point guard play. The shots don't come in the right spots for certain stretches of the game and that's when we hit those lulls. That's mostly on the point guard.

We had a conversation about Cade Cunningham at one point this season. He had 40 the other night. I think this team is probably at least two players away from being a bona fide Final Four threat, maybe three. But if Cunningham were on this team we definitely wouldn't be sweating the NCAA Tournament right now for sure.
