His record at Vandy is terrible but he blames Trump supporters for lack of support??

I have thought Stackhouse was always overpraised as a player and then as a coach.

I would have thought Vandy fans to be the most Woke in the SEC not MAGA central. That criticism is something of a surprise.

      He makes some good points.

W/r/t the Jeff Goodman thing, Goodman is a weird guy who takes runs at a lot of people on social media. I have no idea if he does the same thing face to face, but he's virtually a Dan Dakich figure who hides behind his computer as he talks crap about people. (He also openly roots for certain teams, programs, and coaches.) He's been doing it for years. He's been on Stackhouse relentlessly--but he also does the same with UK. I imagine there's some click-baiting going on there.

Goodman also claimed a few years ago that Calipari tried to get him fired from a job once. Whether true or not I don't know, but if true then Goodman may have a legitimate reason to be all over Cal.

What a desperate sad attempt by Stackhouse to deflect blame off of him.

While I agree that voting for Trump requires a sort of mental and moral gymnastics, I fail to see what it has in common with winning and losing basketball games. Maybe Stackhouse is just a bad head coach trying to revive a program that is notoriously hard to win at.

I will note that it's refreshing that Jeff Goodman has become a twitter-only nothing since moving to his web career.

Jeff Goodman wasn't always a Twitter troll. He has always been honest but it was when he left ESPN that he morphed into this caricature.

Going from CBS/Fox Sports/ESPN to whatever the Stadium is probably isn't the career direction most would like to follow.

I'm lost...Stackhouse is all over the place rambling and trying to deflect. Does he need more time to build a decent program-yes! It is hard to have a decent football and basketball program at Vandy but Coach Stack, please take some responsibility and just talk to the media about building the program brick by brick...fans just need to be patient.

I really never write got all the love for Stackhouse.
I was kind of, well, shocked when Vandy hired him.
BUT...he has the name and the NBA chops, and that may carry him through.

It's really not surprising to hear of this considering who he is and the climate today. I don't understand his reasoning but to each his own. I will say that while Vandy sucks, they play hard. They are in sime ways like us. Been in most all games. Scottie Pippen Jr is gonna be a stud. I like watching him play.

I was never a Kevin Stallings fan by any stretch of the imagination. But maybe he actually had that program topped out in its potential

Yeah, probably. Hard to win at a school that doesn't put an emphasis on sports. I say that and their baseball team is one of the best around so what do I know?
