Over the past few years we have had an unfortunate history of injuries. Some really terrible like Noel.
just almost a jinx it seems.

Several of the “injuries” weren’t injuries.

On the one hand I hate this as a fan. On the other, it's really no body's business, and if I were a parent and saw my kid thrown under the bus by his coach, I'd be pretty pissed.

I'm not sure there's "the other hand". It happened, and the response was what most people figured was going to happen. He likely opted out.

The problem lies in the sudden loss of control. Early on Calipari controlled what happened here, in the last few years that has changed.

How that reflects upon the serves offered...says something to me.

I dunno, if Cal had asserted a little more control, maybe Marcus Camby and Derrick Rose probably wouldn't have caused their school's final four appearances to be vacated.

Cal's just never gonna throw a player under the bus, the sooner everyone accepts that the less angry we'll be. Whatever Clarke's reason for not playing is up to him.

^ Calipari "threw Terrence Clarke under the bus" within the last 2 weeks, others this season. WAG is I made the former post in light of that fact.

Exactly. Getting all upset and calling Cal a liar seems a bit juvenile to me. Actually very few folks really know the truth.

I just don’t think there’s anything Cal can say that isn’t a lie unless this is actually the case.

There is the possibility that Cal is telling the truth and the doctors really are advising caution. Or maybe Clarke really is scared of injuring it worse and is sitting out the season.

I dunno, it’s not my career and he isn’t my son.

What we know is that a little over a week ago Cal said all medical tests were negative and basically questioned the kids man hood about not playing, a week later he tells us the kid is out for the season. It is kind of hard not to have some questions now considering his conflicting statements. What I do know is that when you give one and done players who don’t really want to be in college anyway an option to opt out this kind of thing is bound to happen. Is the kid really that injured and if so how does one explain Cals previous statement, just as likely the kid is worried that further play will accentuate his meager skills at this point in his career and further damage his draft prospects. Cal being Cal is allowing the fiction of an injury for the same reason.

Probably not a good one, but this season’s in the shitter and most of us have mailed it in. Why wouldn’t we expect a player with potentially millions on the line to not do the same? All of us wanna believe these guys are playing for the name on the front of the jersey - but the toothpaste has been out of the tube on this year for awhile now.

I think the reason is pretty evident. I think asking questions is fair - but at the end of the day he’s the guy with millions on the line, not us.

These guys playing for the name on the front of the jersey has been a fantasy for a long time.

Cal recently said Clarke underwent a number of tests that would have revealed an injury if one exists — x-rays, MRI, etc. — and that all tests came back negative. “There’s nothing there,” he said.

Yesterday, we were told there’s an injury that will just so happen to keep him on the shelf for the remainder of the season.

Both of those things can’t be true.
