I've always heard it was one of the better gameday atmospheres at Rupp Arena. We could use some positive thoughts, even if they are from a different era:

Haha, that's my college roommate in the screenshot with the backwards white hat, hilarious!

That game was unbelievable....greatest atmosphere I have ever seen in a sporting event other than 1999 NFC championship game with the STL Rams. We could have beat them by 40 if Tubby wanted to keep the pressure on. The final score does that game no justice to how big a blowout it was.

Can't believe that was almost 18 years ago, damn...I'm getting old!

Same thought here, crazzed, time has flown by. My life is completely different both now and also in how I would have envisioned at that time that it would be now.

I was a sophomore in HS during that season and had great fun watching those teams with friends and family. At school they would bring in this giant big screen television to the library during sec tournament and as a “reward system” allow us to watch the games as a group. Truth was that the teachers wanted to watch the games too! Really fun at the time, and while it might not have been the best use of opportunity for education it definitely was worth it.

We all thought UK could break through and win the title while Chuck was on the team.

I'm totally there. The next year broke my heart more, but this run was magic. Hated to take that L.

I was in the UK pep band for that game against Florida. I remember how jacked we all were for that game and how intense Rupp was before that. There was just a sense that no way were we gonna lose that game, but I didn’t expect to
double up the score at halftime. The loudest I’ve ever heard Rupp and the most fun I ever had at any game.

I totally agree, I was sitting with my brothers in Houston watching us clank FT's. Sold our tickets and drove home. May have been the most disappointed I've ever been, much like the Texas Western game.

The look and demeanor Donovan had when he asked for that timeout was priceless. He already knew his team was defeated. One of my favorite overlooked moment from that game. We were living in my In-Laws basement saving for a house during this time. I was so jacked up that I kept pouring a glass of my FIL's homemade peach wine. He wasn't too happy that I drank most of it. Fun times and we need that back again.
HaHa! I watched THIS video finally and Billy's TO was called after that Barbour reverse slam but was cut out by the white noise. Should I not have said "white"? Lolz. Anyways, I will take this Tubby over the current Cal.

^ On another note, I could've had tix for that game. I was on a UK fan board on AOL and this guy had tix for sale face value for this game. I was the first to respond and he gave me his phone #. It was all contingent on getting my buddy to go with me but he was so whipped by his girl that she wouldn't let him go. I was so bummed. Wish I would've went by myself.
