I didn't see the game. But, based on what I've read this morning, the biggest problem seems to be that Bama is just light years better than us. One has to wonder, though, if the blow back from the kneeling didn't have a negative effect on the team.

Unfortunately, barring a miracle run that is unlikely, last night probably assured this team will not make the NCAA tournament.

I don't think there will be conference tournaments and with UT (x2), Texas, @Bama, @Mizzou, you are looking at a minimum of 5-6 more losses yet to come.

            Well....this is certainly something.

How bad was last night? For the first time in the Calipari Era, Kentucky did not lead for a single second. Every player finished in the negative in efficiency:

Mornings after losses suck. Mornings after late-night losses really suck. Mornings after late-night 20-point losses really, really — well, you get the point. In case you fell asleep early, the Cats turned in an absolute clunker last night, losing to Alabama 85-65. The 20-point margin was the largest home defeat since Dec. 20, 1988, a […]

              Clarke hurt his ankle.

Cal said Fletcher would likely not play except in dire situations. Probably going to treat this year as a kind of redshirt year for him and then see if he wants to come back.

That was a RIDICULOUSLY bad game for Kentucky last night. Probably the worst I've seen in the Calipari era.

It looked like Alabama was just on a totally different level. Alabama.

It's still time to reassess the Cal method. Vitale, as wild and nonsensical as he can be, said some interesting things in that game last night. Said the game is going toward experience, and you have to agree. As one-and-dones begin to disperse and go to different schools rather than to just Duke and UK, that means that UK is only going to get one (if that) total stud a recruiting cycle.

Given that's the case, we HAVE to become more traditional and keep players around. We have to.

Yep. Also have to get shooters.

Still didn't think it was as bad as the Georgia Tech debacle earlier this year.

At least in the game last night we showed flashes of competent offense. In the Georgia Tech game, we literally did nothing right, on either end of the floor.

During the game Vitale or the other guy quoted Bruce Pearl as saying “as long as threes count more than twos, we are going to keep shooting them” or something like that. Get players that can make threes and if they give up a two on defense, you can live with it. Alabama reminded me of (dare I say the name) Pitino’s teams.

I don't know the answer, but Cal's teams seem to have a problem defending the three. Maybe not going for head fakes is a start. And Cal harped on that in the pregame with Tom Leach. Don't try and block a three pointer. This is the first I had ever heard him say that. It was weird because we seemingly bite on every head fake year in and year out.

I had the same thought. Shot without fear and had good ball movement.

One thing I've noticed this season is how knowledgeable Kentucky fans, and particularly WCN'ers are of the problems surrounding our beloved CATS. There has been very little complaining about Officials, but taking charge of the reality of this team. Sure this season is nowhere near what we wanted or expected, but the truth is, this team is broke and AD, Hero, Tayshaun, Wall or KAT are not walking through the door. Memories!

Some people have seen this coming for a long time. It's finally coming total head. The catch is. How do you not recruit the best? A very difficult situation. Some way of encouraging them to stay would be great. Duke will be in the same boat soon if not already.
