I have been critical of his coaching but his character is beyond question.

I didn't realize coach Hall is in a facility. How long has he been there?

          I'm glad he's our coach.

            That's a great picture...but it's also a very, very sad picture.

Awesome picture and it's beyond cool how much Cal care for Joe B. Unfortunately, I think the days are numbered for us to have Joe B around. He turns 93 this year and has been battling some major health issues for a long time.

Indeed. Gonna be sad day in the Bluegrass when Coach Hall passes. Listening to the Joe B and Denny show I grew quite fond of Joe B.... And Denny.

I saw Coach Hall about 15 years ago in downtown Lexington at Sawyer's there on Broadway eating lunch one day. My coworker struck up a conversation with him and we got to talk to him for a few minutes while we were waiting for our food.

He was such a nice man and gracious to spare a few minutes, and getting to chat with a UK basketball coach was a pretty cool thing. I like Cal but I can't imagine him chatting with fans.

I had my picture taken with Coach Cal at a fund raiser for Transy. When he found out I was a retired official, we talked a minute and then he went straight to my wife and talked to her for a good while. He expressed his concern about her being home while I was calling games, like his wife is home a lot when he is coaching and recruiting. I was impressed.

At a fundraiser is one thing, waiting for your food in a restaurant is another.

Not saying Cal's not a good guy or doesn't do great things, just that being a man of the people isn't his thing.

Maybe when Cal is in eighties and long retired, he'll be more apt to strike up a conversation with fans while waiting for his food in a restaurant.

His time is a little bit more valuable right now than coach Hall's, no disrespect.

Maybe, though I doubt Cal will be in Kentucky when he's in his 90s.
