College Basketball Season Might be Paused...or Cancelled

There are no official sources on this but I've seen a few people this morning say that as COVID cases begin to go up across the country, the powers-that-be in college basketball are getting seriously concerned about how the schedule is going to be played. Mostly the anxiety is about the beginning of the season and these multi-team events (MTE's), but there are possibilities we could see conferences or programs shut down until 2021.

The season is scheduled to start one month from today.

Per Zagoria, all the Orlando bubble events are on "life support."

This would include the Champions Classic that Kentucky is slated to play in.

It's also being reported by various people that ESPN has pulled out of all the Orlando events, which probably means they aren't gonna happen.

This looks like the case.

The problem here is that if there's a lull after this spike, college basketball is going to be left out in the cold like Big 10 football was. Say this spike abates and we return to "normal." There are going to be countless programs scrambling to figure out how to get games in December, a critical time for college basketball.
