With no Anthony Davis in sight, is there a Jamal Maglore anywhere?

        Barbee, then. Orlando's an upgrade.

^ I agree on this front, but I will say that I cannot see it happening as Barbee is a former player and close friend. In full discretion I whined about staff and the need to shake it up with Tubby, and I must do so now as well. I'm talking without any concrete info here; for all I know, Barbee might be strong in practice or in pre-game planning. Regardless, it's hard to argue that the staff isn't stale. We need an influx of energy, imo.

I'm sure the staff could be massaged around some though to accommodate Antigua should he be available to return.

What sort of constrictions are there? I'm guessing you can have only so many coaches who are allowed to recruit, make in-person visits, participate in practice, sit on the bench, etc.

I also think that from a recruiting standpoint we need to do a better job of affronting the image of failure if a person stays more than 1 or 2 years here, I truly think identifying that issue could calm down our transfer rate.

I'd love to have O back, but if it was going to happen, it would've happened already.

Not that anyone's paying me to figure this out, but I don't know how you do this without the guys who transfer. P.J. Washington was supposed to be the one who finally made multi-year tenures cool. And maybe he did have a positive effect for a minute or two: we managed to keep quite a bit of talent heading into last season, and you'd have thought that Nick and Quickley's improvement would have helped even more...but look at us now.

I think the only thing that helps is we hey a few more kids back who turn into lottery picks and have decent careers in the NBA. When you look at our multiple year impact players you've got Jones, Miller, Lamb, PJ, Richards, Hagans, Quickley. Only one guy on that list came back to school and made some serious money.

IMO, Justus is a must keep, but for some reason I don't think Barbee was a very good hire and I still think that. Can't put my mind on a reason, just a feeling. Coach O would be an upgrade for anybody except Payne.

I’ve always felt the same way about Barbee. Seemed like more of a friend hire than anything, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our recruiting dipped once Cal brought him on.

Well, now it looks like the transfer rule isn’t changing quite yet.

Guess we cross our fingers and hope Banchero’s sick of HS.

I thought, based on some of the posts I was reading, that it was a done deal, not so.

For your football question, this has been the subject of much speculation on other forums. Until an actual rule change is passed it just that, speculation. Since all of the rumored rule changes include some form of support/approval from the first school Auburn may have a say in his immediate eligibility. And since we play Auburn next year....

Several articles today regarding Frank Anselem as a possible big man for next year.

A 6-10, 220lb center originally from GA but currently in school in CA. Recently reclassified to 2020 and reopened his recruitment.

He may turn out to be a fine player in time, but it's hard to imagine him being the solution to our immediate problems.

I'm hoping the chatter about Wake Forest's Olivier Sarr is more than speculation. He's exactly what we need.
