Yeah, I was bummed to see that. That win is not looking all that great any longer. After starting the year 10-3 they are just 8-9 since and have lost 4 of 6.

Speaking of our wins, we'll have a real chance to have beaten the ACC winner and the Big 10 winner if things fall right this week.

This is why I think if we can win the next two here I think we are in good shape for a 2 seed.

Bad internet connection. The post SHOULD have been how does a number 6 national ranking by AP and coaches equate to a three seed.
I live about fifty miles from Nashville....info on storm damage is overwhelming connections here....gotta folks have family in that area and connections are shaky.

UK's NET ranking is 14 (4 seed) and KenPom is 26. Sagarin is 5 and Massey (combination of ALL computers) is 15.

Cats are all over the place. Weak schedule + two bad losses explains why some aren't sure what to think of this team.

Bracketmatrix has us currently as the #3 3 seed so we are safely a three for now and may be able to move up to a 2 if we win out.

Those who are still unsure what to make of this team aren't watching them and letting the computers tell them the story.

Anybody who has been paying attention over the past month knows that Kentucky is one of the best basketball teams in America.

There's a very loose connection between ranking in the polls and seed. Sometimes they end up corresponding but not always.

The Pomeroy rankings are so wild this year that I'm not sure they tell you much. There are some crazy things happening just in the top 20 of those rankings.

Kentucky is dinged there in part because of our awful OOC schedule and how we struggled a bit with it, and also we're not that efficient of a team. I would argue that we do some things to offset these efficiency problems, but when you've got a point guard who's erratic, you're not a great outside shooting team, and you turn it over quite a bit, you aren't going to be a darling in Pomeroy's eyes.

That metric rewards slow, methodical, staunch teams. That isn't Kentucky. However, Kentucky is ironically putting up some hellacious free throw numbers, and I think that alone offsets a lot of things you see in the Pomeroy rankings.

Kentucky is also older than we usually are.

One thing that isn't discussed a whole lot is how we only have one freshman this year who's a major contributor.

This gives us an advantage in late-game situations we generally don't have.

Assuming we retain them, it also makes me feel good about next year.

                            Keion Brooks and Dontai Allen?

I'm a realist and I dont see any way we keep Richards, Hagans, Maxey or Quickley. Maybe Montgomery sees what Richards did this year and sticks around but I doubt it.

We are going to be very young next year. The upside is that the talent level will be higher.

How many believe we win last two league games and the SEC tournament?

I meant Brooks and Juzang. I actually forgot about Dontai Allen. Montgomery is starting to show flashes but he'd be wise to wait another year.
