I wished we hadn’t played so sloppy in the second half. This team is still learning to play 40 minutes.

But man, if they figure it out, this team is gonna wreck some people.

I'm still not sure that we have the roster to "wreck people," but it's obvious that we're getting better and that our ceiling is higher than I thought it was just a month ago.

And for anybody who is mourning our position, we could be North Carolina who just lost at home to Clemson.

Some people take the term "Cats by 90" a little too serious. It wasn't their best performance today, but they hit the needed shots and held a very high scoring team well below their average. No team is always at their best, so when we win and play below our potential you'll hear very few complaints from me.

While you all were suffering through another Wildcat Victory, I was at a loss when the 12 & under team I coach at Church proceeded to seemingly forget everything we tried to teach them during the 3 practices we had leading up to today's game. And that was on both ends. After reading a lot of the posts on this thread, I'm practically glad I was there instead of here. GO CATS!

Yeah - I was a little negative in my posts. Overall - I thought they started a little slow and was playing lazy at times but Bama comes at you 110mph all the time so I don't think they were ready for that but they really closed out the first half very nicely. Nick took over again in a spot and Maxey actually played pretty well. A few times, he pulled the ball out instead of running in like a wild man and getting a charge like he has been doing early season. Quickly has been great the last few games. Even EJ had a solid first half. Cal gave Whitley plenty of PT in the first half but the poor kid is just lost right now. I'm not sure what is there and what is not.

2nd half - some big shots when needed but UK did play poorly this half. I'm more concerned with Cal and his slow down offense - just frustrates me. Overall though - it's another good win in the SEC and you can see some good improvement in the team...

The thing about being negative about this team is that the way we won yesterday is going to have to be the way we win every game from here on.

We simply aren't good enough to stomp teams. We just don't have the offensive firepower.

Now, we might blow somebody out in SEC play, but it'll basically take the other team quitting. If I had to guess I would say every win we have from here on out will be in question in the last five or six minutes of the game.

That's just the way this team is built. They're going to have to just fight their opponent all the way to the buzzer. If we had one more playmaker on this team--if Kahlil Whitney was a 10 ppg type of guy--then we'd be super dangerous. As it is we're just going to have to outlast teams.

It's gonna be ugly. If you're the type who gets frustrated and throws remotes and/or puts down money that this UK team is going to cover spreads, I'd suggest stopping immediately. If you have blood pressure issues, I probably wouldn't follow these guys from here on out. This is one of those prototypical rough around the edges teams that could beat anyone or lose to anyone remaining on the schedule.

I’ll just say if this team could’ve played 40 minutes yesterday, they’d have beaten Alabama by 20. I agree we aren’t the most blessed with contributing talent but there’s a lot there to like.

I agree. I like this team and I expect a couple who are struggling to get it soon, then we all will like them a lot.

We kind of touched on that last week, are we ever going to be good enough to just stomp teams moving forward with new freshman year in and year out? Again, just have to accept it for what it is......

Let's face it, we not beating teams by 40 unless UK NBA pro's want to stay on board for 3 or 4 years, not going to happen...

And let's be honest, is home court advantage REALLY home court advantage these days? You have a crowd that sits back and puts you under the microscope that refuses to cheer, you have rims you never practice on, you have another team on a ride or die me against the world mission, we play better more focused on the road in my opinion.....

Kentucky's had some mostly freshmen teams who have stomped people. 2010 rolled through a bunch of people obviously. 2012 and 2015 as well, but they had some vets. Even the team last year blew some teams out and made it look easy. The Fox/Monk/Bam team was 8th in the nation in scoring margin.

This team isn't really like those teams. You can't just say "they're freshmen" with this group. The thing about this team isn't just youth; this team doesn't have a whole lot of top shelf, game-changing players. They're not a bad team, they just have to fight and if they let off the gas things get really ugly.

Nobody in college basketball wins games regularly by 40 points. By the end of the season the best teams in the power conferences will have a winning margin of about 13 or 14 points. That's very good for most Final Four caliber teams.

I don't know where this notion came from that Kentucky should just crush its opponents. If you look at the 1998 national championship team, they beat their opposition by about 13 points a game. That's about where you would want your team to be at the end of the year.

This UK team has played a bad schedule as we all know so scoring margin for this team is hard to get a read on, but regardless it's beating teams by 12.3 points a game.

So just to be clear, this is still the same team that lost to Evansville, any and every win here on moving forward is a plus...
