I have no idea what to expect. I know they are #3. I know we have lost our last 2. As a lot of you know, I am married to a bird fan. He is being quiet, but smiling too much when we are out and someone brings up b-ball. 😐

I actually think we beat Louisville by 10 points. Not because we're a better basketball team, but because beating Louisville is just sort've what Cal does.

Usually desperate teams playing at home in college basketball find a way to win.

Of course this isn't a normal UK team. As we've seen, the issues offensively and on the interior are pretty serious.

Mainly I worry about Kentucky's ability to score. Of course, Louisville hasn't lit the nets up either, but their three-point percentage is higher and their offensive efficiency is much higher.

But where Louisville's bread is buttered is on the defensive end. I worry Kentucky will not be able to muster 60 against that defense. It's going to be a slow, grinding game and Kentucky's personnel is not great for that sort of affair, what with so few playmakers who can go get a bucket against the shot clock.

It's very rare in the pre-Cal or Cal era for UK not to play well in a game like this. But then again, I'm not sure Cal's had a worse team at Kentucky. Very hard one to call.

Actually let me take this back.

A lot of times in these rivalry games neither team plays that well. They're usually played really close to the vest and ugly.

I think this game is going to go down like that. What I meant to say is that when Kentucky is desperate they often get a W--and that goes back way before Cal.

I want to think Rupp will be rocking, fans will be behind them, and the place will be electric for the first time pretty much all season. All that should make the difference.

But as I said, this is a really rough team around the edges and they're going to need more help than any UK team of the Cal era to win this.

I'm at the point in my UK fandom that I'm more confident in the FB team than I am the BB team. Never thought that would happen. I'd love to see a win.

I want to think we got better this week. My hunch is that this team just isn’t there and we lose this game and limp into conference play.

I like UK in this one. We can’t score but neither can UL. Home court ruled in this one I think

Two things worry me. I expect UL to play a zone defense which we don't do well against, and I expect them to drive and dish, which is another thing we don't do well against. However I expect us to get the Win somehow. I believe in our guards and if Hagans, Quickley and Maxey can shoot better that they have and guard the 3, we should be able to beat what I believe is a better team.
