I can't blame Cal 100% maybe its just me? I just can't invest in these blank jerseys any longer. The amount of time for a one and done is just too short for me. I would rather have guys I can invest some time in and get to know. I feel like we have a great class coming next year might pick it back up then. I guess on the flip side I have become a much bigger Football fan. Just tired of the same ole thing. I know someone will show me some stats on Cals success, don't bother.

Lots of great people here, great fans. I will still come to the site to read news and keep up with football, just can't do BB right now.
That's a shame. Don't come back if they start winning.

As for the game: it was about what I expected. Never really posed a real threat to win, but never really out of it, either. Just kind of hanging around. And that's not gonna be good enough.

One thing that is completely unacceptable: Nick RIchards' box score. This team won't make the NCAA tournament if that's the sort of statline that Nick brings in conference play.

I still think these guys will get it together and piece together a respectable regular season, but that's mostly because the SEC (and college basketball as a whole) is so unbelievably weak. They're not good right now, but I'm reserving judgment.

Still think we win the Louisville game.

Richards and EJ combined for 6 points and 5 rebounds.

That’s disgraceful and they should be ashamed with their performance.

        Absolutely pitiful.

They're not very good basketball players, but they're not that bad. Unacceptable effort.

I, for one, feel differently. It sounds as if Westtncat has made sacrifices (missing work) to support the program. I know he has been an asset to WCN. He has contributed in a civilized and respectable manner. If a person feels they need to step back, by all means, I say do so.

Westtncat is a Wildcat Nation legend. Obviously, he's more than welcome to post whenever and as much as he wants.

I meant that he shouldn't come jumping back on the badwagon if the team starts winning and ends up where we all want them to be. I'm of the opinion that fans don't just give up on their team, no matter their frustrations with the culture of the program. I couldn't imagine just not watching Kentucky basketball, no matter how angry or apathetic I was.

I can't count the number of Billy Gillispie era games that I stuck around with until the final buzzer or the number of Bill Curry/Joker Phillips era football games I suffered through. People that are decrying the position of our basketball program need to remember those golden days. I'm not particularly happy with some Cal's ways and I've got some major problems with this team and their makeup, but I couldn't imagine throwing in the towel in December and just not watching them. Especially since we know the M.O. of Cal's teams is their improvement as the season goes on.

I know West TnCat personally and when he walks away from UK basketball there is a problem. Too many, including UK staff and admins, are ignoring the legion of fans like him that are walking away from our basketball program , it is happening and nobody seems very concerned about it. Cal will not even acknowledge there is a problem. I so wish he would retire

Why on earth would anybody say this? This has been one of the greatest decades in the history of Kentucky basketball, and if the last five aren't as monumental as the first five, it's only because we set the bar so high.

I'm not pumping sunshine; this team is not very good, and Cal has some major issues to address, on and off the court. But to wish that he would resign? That is absurd.

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt. Your right KC everything is great. I am a spoiled delusional fan. The fact that at least a DOZEN previously rabid UK fans I know(I just counted them) could no longer care less about our seasons is an irrelevant outlier

You obviously did not read what I wrote.

There are issues that Cal needs to address, on and off the court. Everything is not roses and sunshine. And I'm not in denial.

But there is zero... zero... reason to be calling for John Calipari's resignation or retirement. I've only heard that from a few people on message boards, not from anybody in my daily reality. It's baffling to me.

What has John Calipari done to deserve that? Kept Kentucky clean in the midst of the most scandalous decade in college hoops history, represented the school with pride, and managed to have more across-the-board success than any other school in that same time period. There are things on and off the court that he needs to clean up, and he needs to adjust some.

I'm truly sorry that there is a portion of the older guard that is so put off that they're going to quit watching our team, because what's going on doesn't jibe with their idea of what college basketball should be. I guarantee that there are a LOT more Kentucky fans that are proud to have John Calipari as the head coach and want him to stay and get this right.

It also goes without saying that this team is playing hard. It might be different if they were just going out and not giving any effort, but that's simply not the case. They deserve our support, despite how you may feel about the coach or the culture of the program.

                    Beat Louisville.

Where was I putting the kids down, simply saying I hate the culture Cal has brought to UK . I watch the games and pull for UK like I have since 1965. I would like a new coach and a new direction for program and I’m not alone.

You are in the VERY small minority.

I criticize Cal and want him to make some pretty big changes but thinking UK could do better than what Cal has done/will do is pretty silly.

And can you honestly say after observing him for a decade that he is going to make these “large changes”.As far as can we do better I don’t know that and neither do you. Hiring somebody that isn’t one and done oriented and cares about the university more than putting guys in the league would in and of itself be a huge improvement from where I’m setting

People wanting Cal gone need to provide a plausible suggestion of someone who’s gonna outperform him here, because he’s been about as good as it gets here.

Now I do agree the state of this team is not acceptable and that there’s some structural things that need changed. Cal needs to retool...something.

Just because someone isn’t one and some oriented doesn’t make them an improvement. The OSU guy may be a good candidate when Cal leaves, but whoever takes his place is gonna be a gamble.

I can honestly say that from the other sites I visit, there are more posts complaining about Cal and the program than I have seen before. Don’t know what it means but just sharing my observations.

                                And rightly so.

But theres a difference between complaining when things arent going well and hoping that Cal retires or leaves.
