Hedley Lamar @ UK game thread

I primarily want to see another strong performance from Nick. Need to see consistency from him before the real opponents return. Go Cats!

I'd like to see us come out and take control of this game from the get - go.
Cover the 25 point spread and show some domination........so I can sit back and relax

It sort of bums me out that as Feast Week is getting started, we're playing a string of garbage teams.

Would really (really, really, REALLY) like to see Kentucky back in Maui. God I miss those days when we could go home for Thanksgiving and look forward to UK playing in some far-flung locale that night.

Cal's complete dismissal of these early-season events is stupid as dog piss.

Wow we look the best I’ve seen us on the offensive end Nick is certainly doing it against the tomato cans, if he can do it against SEC teams we will be okay

Couldn’t agree more. I remember watching Cats in Great Alaskan shootout. Pitino telling a hilarious story of Wayne Turner getting lost on a snowmobile and calling him 2 hours later from”some white dudes” farm. Year Brosdow won it at buzzer in Maui. Great fan memories but then Cal could care less about the fans, he had made that abundantly clear for several years now

We already play in two classics involving Duke, Kansas, MSU, UNC, Ohio St, and UCLA. On top of that we are in the SEC/Big12 week, and always play another two or three solid teams as well as Louisville. I wouldn't mind getting a home and home in late November with another top 25 program but I completely understand not wanting to drag kids all the way to Maui.

                Typically the kids don't mind.

Well we won considerably easier than UL did tonight. Not bad, just gotta keep growing.

Yeah, how awful it would be to have to take a trip to Hawaii in November.

The reason he doesn't play in Maui is because he worries about being embarrassed on TV. Period. He remembers that brutal game against UCONN in 2011 and I think he vowed to never do that again.

As far as the game itself, Kentucky might have played the best they've played all year. They definitely looked like a top 25 team in that game.

Richards keeps giving really good minutes. I would love to see him against an elite big man but for now he's playing the best in his career by far.

If he was worried about that, he wouldn't keep agreeing to play Kansas, Duke or Michigan State on November 5th every year.

It's different playing one game. You can roll the dice in one game. He doesn't like that the third game in three days is going to be against a Kansas/Duke/Michigan St. sort.

And honestly, the marketing and NBA exposure for the players is more if you play those showcase games. There's more attention on those games because often with those games it's the only thing on. Maui has to fight against all these other tournaments and is just one event in a sea of others.

But Maui would be for the fans. It's an awesome fan experience. As we all know, Cal doesn't make decisions with the fans in mind a lot of times.

It doesn't bother me a ton except when I turn on the TV this week and never see us on. I think Feast Week is one of the neater, more exciting things that happens in college basketball and that Kentucky is literally never part of it is pretty disappointing.
