This may be the greatest debut of any freshman Cal has ever had, Maxey has done it all. He's rebounded, defended ,handled the ball, scored at will,. He is the only reason we are leading and he has out played the All American pg on the other side...

May have been someone with better #s...but against MSU (whether they deserve#1 or not) and in MSG!? Impressive.

I'll mimic JLoad - great win for a young team... I assumed Maxey would be the guy on this team and so far, he showed he is... I have to tell you - with the speed and length of this team and the atrocious front-court play - I don't know if I wouldn't try a few games of just full out Rick Pitino old school full court in your face pressure for an entire game.

Nick hasn't improved at all at UK and EJ isn't good. Nick had 1 good defensive play and 1 good offensive play (2 if you want to add in the dunk). Other than that, it's the same old. He gets lost, can't rebound, ends up with his back to the ball so much and so on. EJ is just soft.

Overall though - I think once they settle in, could turn into a pretty solid season.

Wow what a debut by Maxey! That LONG three he took, sure it was a bad shot, but the kid knew it was going in as soon as he shot it. This kid is a stud. He finds ways to score and isn't shy about wanting the ball. He has a killer instinct and that is rare for a freshman.
