Gonzaga beat Michigan State by like 15 in a scrimmage yesterday or today. Not that it means anything, just reporting

Interesting. But I will say that Izzo's teams always start slow.

I heard one time that he puts in like 200 plays at the start of the season. Probably also has to do with the fact that his teams are usually built around toughness and rebounding, and those things are attrition-related. If you hang your hat on toughness it makes sense that you'd be better at the end than the beginning, because by the end sometimes it comes down simply to which team wants it more.

And I've wondered for the last few years why UK doesn't play one of these "secret" scrimmages against somebody.

I guess it's because they're worried that UK fans would be trying to sneak in through the windows.

Too much risk for too little benefit? UK has taken that view for a long time.

Word would leak out and the place would be packed.

Also Ohio State beat UL in a secret scrimmage. I had no idea these games even existed.
