I'm right there with you Lighthouse. I've been to some professional football games when the alcohol consumed overroad many a wise decision. I am all for someone having a good time at any sporting event but don't think alcohol is needed for that good time. Drunkards making a scene was not what I wanted to see with my son when he was younger and even today it's embarrassing for my wife with the way they act. This is my opinion only.
Obviously this statement is made by someone who doesn't care about the elderly and children attending these events and how "drunks" act. It's bad enough now when they can only sneak it in, and will only get worse when it's sold. Bad language probably doesn't bother some, but it's offensive to others, especially Ladies and Children. If a person decides they have to have alcohol to enjoy a game, that's a decision for them to make, but I don't now or every will approve of it! And that's a decision I have the privilege to make.👍 4Comment

Not sure How I feel about this......some of the fans in the lower level at Rupp don't need another reason to fall asleep

UK has traditionally voted no on this rule, so it will be interesting to see what they will do... It is an awful lot of revenue to leave on the table. I expect some sort of irritating "mother-may-I" half measure.

Rupp Arena already has beer taps, they're just turned off during UK games. So I think the answer to your question is yes, at least UK as a body does.Comment

I am actually surprised that UK hasn't done more to ban drinking in the tailgating before football games, especially after that little boy was killed by a drunk driver last year.Comment

It turns out that likely wasn't really alcohol related. That kid was also coming from an unregistered off-campus party. They have functionally ended student org tailgating with alcohol even if their regulations say they still can.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... You're right, turns out his BAC was actually only .051, which would have been below the legal limit if he were a legal adult.Comment

Yes, you have it correct. I hate children (even my 3 kids) and especially the elderly (my grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc... included).

I didn't realize this was 1950
This weird, "we can't sell beer or the stadium will turn into a drug fueled orgy" mentality is baffling to me.
How do people go anywhere or do anything with this type of fear?
Go to a restaurant? Nope, can't do that, those dang alcohol drinkers may murder us. Go to a movie? Nope, unless it's PG I may hear a bad word. Go to a concert? Whoa, are you crazy? Do you know what happens there? Surely can't go to a MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, or MLS event either.
I have been to probably 1,000+ sporting/concert, etc...type events in my life (some I had a few beers others I did not) and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I ran into any issues, saw outrageous behavior or had any drunk/cursing/fighting issues. This fear is so overblown it's beyond silly.👍 1Comment

It has been and continues to be very patronizing for someone to assume women's delicate ears need protecting from vulgarity. Women don't need men to assume they're offended by vulgar language.
I'm a little more understanding of concerns for children, but parents understand that risk when they bring them to a game. I can't wait to bring my son to a game when he's a little bigger, but I understand he may encounter some rude behavior.
It requires training on the part of the vendors and maybe increased staff in the stands, but beer sales are a manageable risk and something that people want. I'm for it.👍 1Comment

Yes, this post is laughable. You actually had my post to look at while you wrote your response. And still you, as always, go to the extreme and over dramatize everything you post. Can't wait for your next show.
If you take a look at the Likes on my post and the other one agreeing with it, you will quickly see I'm not in the minority. If you or anybody wants to attend events where alcohol is served, then have at it, but I'm against it!

I respect your right to an opinion on the matter, but I'd suggest if you don't like alcohol, don't drink it.
