I'm convinced if Reid Travis scores on that play we win.
But honestly, it's kind of what it was back in the middle of the Tubby Smith years. With teams that are around the 30-win mark and that compete for league titles, they're going to be right there in the Final Four hunt unless something goes weird.
But those are also the teams who usually come up short and who you end up saying about, "Yeah, if not for this one play/one shot/one bad call." Cal was building teams early in his tenure here that were more fireproofed against those kinds of late-March losses, and he had the Final Fours to show for it.
I'm not sure we'll have teams like that again unless something radically changes. But I really liked last year's team and the Monk/Fox team and think both could have easily won it all. They were obviously flawed, however, just enough to keep them from winning the last game they played.
