If not UK, who would you prefer win the NCAAT?

Clearly everyone here wants UK to win the whole thing and not think about another team winning. But, I'm always curious to see what other teams people hate, don't mind, etc...

So, if UK doesn't win the title who would you prefer to see win it? For me, I didn't mind Villanova winning it in 2016/2018. I like Jay Wright and both those teams were likeable.

It absolutely CANNOT be Duke, UNC, KU, UL.

I wouldn't mind seeing Izzo win another one, Gonzaga getting a title, or UVA (I like Tony Bennett) finally living up to what they should be.

    Who you got?

Impossible question to answer for me.

If Kentucky doesn't win I'm really not that moved either way. I'll watch the championship game/Final Four and root against somebody like Duke, but it doesn't bother me all that much. I'd rather my team win than someone else lose.

At the point Kentucky loses my emotion gets sort of blasted out toward other things. The Reds being one, but next year's UK basketball team being another. The emotion it takes to actively root for a team to lose is something I just can't do when UK is done.

Now when UK is still in then I'll root hard against teams I think can give UK problems. But not after the Cats lose. I'm just a passive observer and lover of the game at that point pretty much.

Maybe Wright again. For all the controversy wouldn't kill for it to be Izzo.
if not for the ACC slobber Virginia wouldn't hurt my feelings.

I'm probably a lot worse than Will though....my basketball interest these days is pretty much done when Kentucky is done.

Football I can watch meaningless bowl games all bowl month.

^ And speaking of rooting against other teams: I really feel like Kentucky might have won the national championship in 2016 had Arkansas been able to make one inbounds pass. I really believe that.

Arkansas had North Carolina dead to rights that year and could not inbounds the ball. Carolina got it, scored, and went on and won. This is neither here nor there but I have always felt like if that single inbounds pass is made, Kentucky might have cut down the nets that year.

Something that people might not know if they weren't paying attention to that game. This was of course right before the Luke Maye shot beat us.

I still want to see a good mid-major win the title. We've had a few in recent years get to the final four and the championship game - VCU, Butler, Gonzaga, Wichita State (Gregg Marshall doesn't apply - that guy is a prick). I'd like to see someone on this level get over the hump and take down the nets.

I think Houston has a shot this year if things go well for them (it would be bad for us, though).

I can agree with Houston if the Cats stumble early. It seems strange to put Houston in thoughts as a mid....I remember the phi slamma jamma teams well.

If Kentucky gets beat, it makes little difference to me. Of course I would rather not see an ACC team win it or UL.

Teams I don't want to win: Will be most pissed if UNC wins it all. Duke won't surprise me so I am hoping they stumble. Kansas, not Villanova, Louisville, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Cinci, or Kansas State.

I could live with Gonzaga, Virginia, a SEC team other than Tennessee, St Louis ( Travis Ford) or an underdog.

And NOT UL! I'm not into this "Mack's a good guy so I don't mind UL anymore" movement. I don't have to dislike their current coach to dislike their program. And I don't mind that some UK fans feel that way--each to his own. But I do feel they're missing out on some of the fun of one of the best rivalries in college sports. What fun are sports without rivalries?

I wouldn't say I like U of L - it's just not the burning hatred it was with Pitina'

I hope it's understood that I'm not a UL fan although I believe they have vastly improved their program by hiring good coaches with perceived integrity. I am a KENTUCKY Fan through and through, and sometimes a WKU fan because I went to school there.
