Great win for the kids, hung tough in the worst environment imaginable. Never been a fan of Cals “ deflate ball” when we grab a big lead in second half, it’s cost us before and almost did here.

A very hard fought win--makes UK fans feel as good as Auburn fans feel bad---their team played their hearts out--know that losing was heartbreaking to them!!!

There’s no explanation for that crap. Just further proves that college basketball officiating is complete garbage and a total joke.

I'll save him the time and effort. There is no explaining that horrendous call AFTER looking at the monitor. Just complete incompetence.

Really nice road win. I'd rather have seen our D stop them at the end rather than them just missing a 6 ft floater. But can't expect good D at that point with fear of a flagrant or attempted murder charge for making a play on the ball. No way players can know what to do when a game is called that way. A punk jumping up with his fists clinched does not make a play a flagrant. PJ didn't even throw him off balance--his hitting the rim with his wrist did!

                Big win.

If you had told me Auburn would make 13 threes I would have thought we would lose by double digits. Our offense was good tonight.

Nothing like Kentucky Basketball Fans with their Blue tinted glasses on. That was a very difficult game to officiate, and I have to admit the crew didn't do a very good job today. They were Don Daily, Michael Roberts and Lee Cassell.

Survived a rough environment, a hard team to play against and some bad calls but we survived. Good game CATS! I watched this game with my episodes flaring up from the tension but i got through it. I was even going to try to get on here during the game but too much anxiety. Glad they have improved a bunch since watching the DUKE game. I have now watched the last 3 game in full. I think Baker is playing decent defense and really does not drop off too much when he is in the game. EJ and NICK were not their best tonight.

Of course high emotion games are difficult to officiate. But you stop a game and watch a replay for 3 minutes and see nothing but a guy going for the ball and making nothing but forearm to forearm contact and conclude that's a flagrant? Go back to official school. Luckily it didn't change the outcome like it very well could have. I feel for refs on fast paced judgement calls. Not slow-motion replays that indicate they don't understand the rules.

Agree with this 100%... It was obvious that it wasn't flagrant - even worse watching the replay and still calling it. But guess what - it's Kentucky and it's the SEC, it's what UK has to deal with. Same with all of these BS foul calls when an offensive player jumps into the chest of a defender who jumps straight up. Right after the UK game - Duke/Va game. Reddish went up and into the big guy Salt of Va twice who jumped straight up, they called no foul and play continued. Bilas was even saying it was a great no call. If that was UK, it would have been a foul.

ALSO - Cal's got to keep playing. UK was killing them down low and then he started to go away. Even Dickie V called him out on that and I'm so tired of Dickie V but he was right.

OVERALL though - I was telling people that UK was winning this game. Cal has Pearls number. This was as very good road win. Hopefully the progression keeps moving forward.

One other note --- So tired of watching other programs and seeing energy and students in the building and then we go to Rupp and the old farts are just sitting there doing nothing... Need to totally redo the seating arrangements at Rupp.

Believe me, they know the rules. I'm not saying this is how I saw that play but remember, there is no intentional foul in the rule book this year. IF the official saw that play as intentional, that's why a flagrant 1 or 2 would be called. Here are the rules as listed in the rule book.

Flagrant 1 personal foul. A flagrant 1 personal foul is a personal foul that is deemed excessive in nature and/or unnecessary, but is not based solely on the severity of the act. Examples include, but are not limited to: 1. Causing excessive contact with an opponent; 2. Contact that is not a legitimate attempt to play the ball or player, specifically designed to stop or keep the clock from starting; 3. Pushing or holding a player from behind to prevent a score; 4. Fouling a player clearly away from the ball who is not directly involved with the play, specifically designed to stop or keep the clock from starting; 5. Contact with a player making a throw-in, and 6. Illegal contact caused by swinging of an elbow that is deemed excessive or unnecessary but does not rise to the level of a flagrant 2 personal foul (See Rule 4-18.7). 7. Illegal contact caused by a player hooking an opponent over or under the arm in an attempt to deceive the official into believing the contact was caused by the opponent. Depending on the nature of the contact, or the result of the contact, this foul could be considered a flagrant 2 foul.
Flagrant 2 personal foul. A flagrant 2 personal foul is a personal foul that involves contact with an opponent that is not only excessive, but also severe or extreme while the ball is live. In determining whether a foul has risen to the level of a flagrant 2, officials should consider the following: 1. The severity of the contact; 2. Whether a player is making a legitimate effort to block a shot. Note that a player may still be assessed a flagrant 2 foul on an attempted blocked shot when there are other factors such as hard contact to the head or the defender winding up or emphatically following through with the contact); 3. The potential for injury resulting from the contact (e.g., a blow to the head or a foul committed while the player was in a vulnerable position), and 4 Any contact by the offending player to the groin area of an opponent which is not clearly accidental. 5. Any foul similar to the foul described in Rule 4-15.2.c.7 in which the contact, or the result of the contact, is not only excessive but also severe or extreme.
