Agree. Much better game - much better spacing and ball movement, much better defensive effort. I'm bad about bashing them but I thought they got going pretty well and did some good things today.
I'm ok with this. I don't think they have to shoot 30/40 three's to be a competitive team. I want them to attack the basket, I want to see ball movement, adjustments, good motion, defensive effort and hustle. I'm not overly crazy about Cal's offense with the especially in regards to the bigs. Way too much standing around. When Washington comes into the game, often the offense seems to slow down and he does way too much standing around. The Halftime show guys stated exactly what is happening. This UK team has 1 pro and that's Johnson. PJ is not a Pro, Richards is not a Pro, Reid is not a Pro. And, the better players are the freshman who are still learning and are lacking. This is hurting them and the loss of Quade is a win/win. Cal can now get a more solid rotation and core group going and hopefully it's going to be much better moving forward. However, I feel like Tennessee is going to blow this team up on the court.Comment

A better effort today. A little different style play. The faster pace likely caused the rebounding to be askew from what it has been. This team still has far to go. Right now I wouldn't be shocked to see UK stomp a mud hole in North Carolina and Louisville, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it get stomped in them.
Where this particular team is going to struggle is the conference. Tennessee is for real and Barnes is doing one fantastic job there. Auburn is a good team. Mississippi State is ahead of UK in the rankings. (today).
Vanderbilt is back to that devil of a team that gives Kentucky fits no matter who puts on that black and gold. Florida.....and the list goes on. Years past, UK could count on some rest up or work things out games in the conference go round.
Ain't gonna happen this year.
Cal is gonna have to steal Stoops line......this is gonna be a grind.Comment

I’m happy Baker got in and made a couple threes. Maybe he can help this team a bit.
Herro played much much better and KJ was a man amongst boys today. EJ and Richards still provide absolutely. I thing on the court.

Solid effort but unfortunately I missed the first 9 minutes because of that stupid football game. We had a birthday get-together and we had to DVR it, so imagine our surprise when we turned it on and saw teams playing on that weird red field. There were still 10 minutes left in the game when the Cats are supposed to start. By the time it came on for us Keldon Johnson had hit 5 threes.
I remain impressed by Ashton Hagans. I thought he did exactly what you need a point guard to do. Would like to see him use his speed to get four or five field goals instead of one, but he impresses the heck out of me.
