^^^Actually had a very solid 10-12 year NBA career as well. Made lots of connections and was a scout for years after his playing days were over. Success at every level. Makes it all the more perplexing what sort of vice made him need to sell stolen ipads.

Prescription pills. He didn't just sell stolen IPads. He stole them.

Chapman Delk Meeks in that order. Without drinking the Kool Aide, Monk and Murray or Booker could easily be in this group but hard to argue one and done here...

And from I'm told, he almost went to Louisville.

                Preferred Louisville, I've always heard.

Chapman was always a little squeamish about the feelings toward race among some UK fans. Had a black girlfriend once and he's always claimed that he got some comments about it.

Think he "identified" more as a city kid, and really his game was well-suited for the style Louisville was playing in the '80s.

Most people were pretty sure that he would go to UL.

He has said in the past that he was asked to hide his dating habits. And also that that played a big part in him leaving early for the NBA.

Rex Chapman was a high school phenom Kentucky legend, should have watched how he would dominate in high school, should have seen him put Felton Spencer in a chair and dunk all over him. Do you remember the Kentucky Louisville game with Chapman? Chapman was one of the best that ever did it at UK that goes far beyond the stats and wins, the expectation and hype of him at Kentucky and he lived up to every minute of it...

Anyways, Chapman was way ahead of his time and if not for his injuries that took away most of his explosiveness, who knows how great of a NBA career he may have had?

I'm not stating anything about Rex... at all. If those who remember say he was great, he was great.
Jeff Shepard wasn't even close to Rex Chapman. If Shepard would have been Rex Chapman he would have been playing as a freshman, not a junior and senior once Mercer and company had gone...

Let' be clear, Louisville was the first choice for Rex, he was going to play with Jerome Harmon. Personally i feel Kentucky paid him off who knows and who cares, that was a long time ago and Kentucky paid the price for any wrong doings anyways....

For a guy his size he was very athletic and I'm not simply saying he could jump. He made plays all over the court and played hard, and I think of him very much like a Derek Anderson to be honest. Similar players and styles of play.
I think of Derek Anderson like Rex Chapman, not Chapman like Anderson, let's be clear lol lol

Sheppard wasn't close to Chapman...but ironically Sheppard ended up having a pretty incredible UK career. I think about him in '98 at the end...Chapman obviously never had any moments like Sheppard had in that NCAA Tournament.

This is sort of the difficulty of grading great "talents" against players who had tremendous careers.

Anthony Epps is another example. Epps had a better career than John Wall, obviously, but it's almost impossible to grade the two players against one another because Wall is so freakishly beyond Epps talent-wise. But Epps is still an all-time great and deserves to be thought of in the same breath with UK's great point guards.

I've only seen one person here (Will) mention Doron Lamb.

He might be the best pure shooter we've ever at seen at Kentucky, and certainly deserves consideration as one of the best shooting guards. His little floater was a thing of beauty, too. The most underrated player of Cal's era, certainly.
