    Other Conference Tournaments Thread

Most of the conference tournament swing into action today.

UL plays Fla State at noon. Must win for UL to have any hope at all to make it to the NCAA's

Notre Dame plays Va Tech ND needs a win bad to make it. They barely beat Pitt last night so it doesn't look good for them.

Syracuse vs UNC Syracuse is probably in but still an interesting game

Oklahoma plays OK State in the Big 12 This could be a play in game to the NCAA's. OSU probably needs this game more than OU. Their OOC schedule was pretty bad.

Also two SEC games Vandy vs UGA and South Carolina vs Ole Miss

Louisville is mauling Florida St. right now.

Something I've never figured out: why is Florida St. such a formidable regular season team, particularly early in the season, and yet never accomplishes much of anything in the postseason? It's really weird. Florida St. almost always beats good teams in November and December and then just slowly fades away.

Probably because of what UK did to them in '93. Still recovering from being down 80-2 after 3 minutes.

DePaul, under Ray Meyer and Missouri, under Norm Stewart were like this. Good to great regular season teams but could nothing in the post season. You have to assume a big part of that is coaching but exactly what is puzzling?

I think that was Wake Forest. One of best knockouts by a team I have ever seen. UK was litterally on fire.

UL lead cut to eight with about three minutes to go. Are they going to blow another big lead?

I think it was WF in round 2 then FSU in round 3 with Doug Edwards, Same Cassell and Bob Sura. One of those he best teams they've ever had and we KILLED them. Don't want to think about round 4 though.

UL hung on to win. They play UVA tomorrow.

Glad UL won, would like to see the Padgett kid get them to the Big Dance, a great coaching job IMO considering all the turmoil

At least Padgett has done something Ricky P couldn’t do, win an ACC Tournament game. But it doesn’t matter because most of their fan base, or most of my family, want him gone.

I'm still not convinced U of L will be able to make a home run hire given the mess things are in there.

Notre Dame probably punched their ticket to the NCAA's with a win over Va Tech. Oklahoma may have lost their way out of it with another loss to OK State. The NIT may get another number 1 draft pick in their tournament this year.

Oklahoma got whipped again. If they make the field, then it is truly fixed.

Hopefully, VA takes care of UL for the third time today. I don't wish anything good for them. Sorry.

UNC is still primed to go a long way in the tourney. Would not shock me if they repeated.

UL is looking at another major hit from the NCAA. The longer this question lingers, the less likely they can get an experienced Coach. Padgett is willing, and may be the best they can do.
