Not bad at all JJ.......just enjoy them while they're here and hopefully they have some kind of crazy run in March that we'll remember for a long time., and then if they move on so be it.
2014 sure was special in my book,

That's the bad thing about success. 3 weeks or so ago there was discussion if Vanderbilt would even get drafted if he chose to leave after this year. I would think he is flying up the draft boards today.

Yeah, it'll be interesting. Think his shooting is still a problem but in this draft you're talking about a lot of iffiness once you get out of the top ten. Somebody at the edge of the lottery might take a shot. Or he could be in a pack of about 15 to 20 intriguing players at the end of the first round.

I would imagine his lack of an offensive game outside of the shadow of the basket will continue to hold him back at being a lock for the lottery, but you don't see guys who play that hard and who can sprint the floor like that very often. He plays with the juice some of the NBA guys play with.

I think the best comparison i have heard of him is Dennis Rodman in some kind of way. Ferocious all out assualt rebounder with no offensive game but i still wonder if he will survive in today's next level. The one thing i like about his rebounding is that on the defensive end, he's not looking to pass out, he starts the break and gets them running for more fastbreak opportunities....

I am glad Hami had something positive happen the other night, that kid needed that in the worst way. As i said in another post the other night, the roar of the crowd and the vote of confidence carry's alot of weight,, he needed it....

I don't really buy into the mock drafts a whole lot when it comes to Vanderbilt because people are still learning about him, and this rebounding thing seems to be sort of a new part of his game that he didn't really show a whole lot in high school. So he's kind of in the process of building his brand.

But most of the mocks are behind pay walls now. If you throw out NBADraft.net, as everyone should, then it looks like Knox is still the only real lock in terms of guys who show up in these mocks. NBA Draft Room has Knox as our only first-rounder; Sporting News has Knox at 11 and Shai at 19; UPROXX has Knox at 11 and Shai at 12 (too high IMO).

Would imagine we'll see a little buzz about Vanderbilt if he keeps playing this way. Such a weird player though because of his total lack of an offensive game. You'd have to project him at this point as a Rodman/Kevin Willis sort.

I compared him to Deandre Jordan but it's about the same. Andre Drummond might be another. But regardless of the comparison the NBA has shown there is a place for guys who can play tough and get rebounds in bunches.

Think Drummond and Jordan were more suited to play in the post in the NBA because of their builds.

Vanderbilt is likely a hybrid wing in the NBA. You might see him playing the role of sort of a Ben Simmons type--Simmons was also an incredible rebounder in college--but I don't think he can be one of these maulers. Way too thin. Reason why his offensive game needs to catch up at least a little bit because I imagine they'll want him to play away from the basket and crash occasionally.

Back in the day you had players like Bo Outlaw and many others who made a good living and contributed to some very good NBA teams, i still think there is a place for players like Vanderbilt,

Glad to see Hami has his head back on his shoulders instead of somewhere else!!! Seems to be utilizing his talent &letting the game come to him!!!
