I had almost forgotten that this was the team that opened up Rupp Arena.
these guys weren't flashy, but when it was clicking these guys were a machine.

BARELY remember that season. I would've been 7 when they won it all. I vaguely remember my Dad going bonkers at the tv during the game. I remember watching a Betamax tape of the dUKe game around 1982.

Saw them play Vandy in Nashville, , great team ,no real weaknesses

^ That was one of the weirdest games ever played. UK had already clinched the SEC,there was no SEC tournament that year and UK had already been selected for the NCAA tournament and knew the path they had to take win it all. Really an almost useless game to play from UK's standpoint.

It wasn't that often Phillips and Robey were on the court the whole game. Normally Mike Phillips and James Lee started the game with two fouls.
