The Cats are alive. They come into Fayetteville on an uptick, if you consider a one-game winning streak an uptick. The bad news is that Arkansas is maybe the hottest team in the SEC, winners of four in a row and coming off a shellacking of Texas A&M. Just three weeks ago Arkansas looked to be a team trending down; now they're an NCAA Tournament team and look to be playing for seed.
Arkansas is arguably the most veteran-heavy team in the SEC. We've seen all these guys before, including leading scorer Jaylen Barford, who started some guff the last time these two teams played in the SEC championship last spring. Barford and Darryl Macon compose one of the highest-scoring duos in the country, putting up almost 36 points between them while shooting a combed 44% from three.
This team is basically a little less talented Auburn, and if we bring our Texas A&M effort we could get run out of the gym.
The game is on at 9:00 on ESPN tomorrow night. You feel like if Kentucky could somehow get one of these road wins it would do wonders for our seed, our confidence, and frankly our season. Unfortunately I don't think that happens. My prediction:
Kentucky 79
Arkansas 92
