I got to watch one last game with my Dad

My Dad has been battling liver cancer for the past 11 months. Tonight we are at the hospital waiting out his final moments. Me and my sons and the family and friends were by his side tonight watching the game that he predicted we would win beforehand.

My dad raised me a UK fan. There wasn’t any other option. He took me to Football games as a youngster in the late 70’s all the way up until I went to college and got my own season tickets. I remember watching many classic games with him.

His time is drawing near. We’re in the mode of making him comfortable. But I’m glad I got to watch a great win by the Cats by his side one last time. My Dad is my hero, my mentor, the best man at my wedding, and an all around great person who taught me well. I’m going to miss him dearly.

I'm very sorry to hear about your father, but watching one last (very sweet) Kentucky win at his side is a memory that you'll always be able to carry with you.

Wow! How can find words on what to say to that. You will always have that memory of being able to do that one thing that bound you together with your dad one more time. Take care and may God's comfort be with you now.

Thank you for that true perspective on life's most precious things.

25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
