I've thought because of his youth he might give it a look.

But this draft is so weak, and he has such enormous potential down the road, that it's hard to see him returning.

Think we definitely lose Knox and Diallo. Shai is probably 50/50 at this point. Don't see anybody else really having a shot. The tools aren't there, nor is the hype.

Shai is the one that will hurt the most. Shai is a superstar in the making. With some seasoning, strength, etc. I think he could be an All-American. But this draft is just so damn soft. To me he could turn out to be one of the great might-have-beens of the Cal era if he decides to leave.

Shai is Tyler Ullis if he were 8 inches taller. Think he could really be the catalyst for something special next year if he returns.

Pretty cool short video with footage from the win.

No way I'd go that far. Ulis was a cerebral point guard with vision, reflexes, and skills to match - all of which was evident even during his freshman year.

I agree that Shai will be fantastic if he sticks around, but I've seen nothing to suggest that he's going to match Ulis.

Shai's special. The way he's built is just so rare, and he has this really unusual game that you just don't see a whole lot.

It's hard to put him with Ulis because Ulis's role was diluted on that team his freshman year, but there are times when I would almost put Shai up there in that echelon.

Rajon Rondo is probably the better comp.

The thing about Ulis isn't what he was as a freshman; it's what he became as a sophomore. You could see some flashes of it but I didn't know he could take over games that way by watching him that first year.

Shai has some of that. Think if he came back next year what you would see with him would be a guy who could just control basketball games. It's so hard to operate against a guy that size. Try going to play pick-up against somebody who's just two or three inches taller; now take that to 6'6" and give him the length of a center. The shots he can get off and the way he can make your life hell on the defensive end is something you just don't see a lot of at the point.

I would love to see him as a 20-year-old in this program because I think we have something truly unique with him. But he might be the third point guard taken in the draft.

The Shai Alexander of that first half at West Virginia was terrified and didn't look anything like one of our upper echelon point guards.

                  Walking turnover, playing terrified.

Playing against one of the nation's best point guards. Also a guy who has to be 24 years old.

I thought both Shai and Quade had nice games Saturday. We don't win that game without Quade.

Quade looked a lot more like he was playing 100%. Those two threes he canned at the end of first half literally kept us from getting blown out.

The last few games he's obviously been playing hurt.

I dropped in on another site where our old friend BJD frequently contributes, and those guys are convinced that we're losing SGA, Knox, Hami, JV, Richards, AND Quade to the pros (and probably Wenyen). Can't remember what they thought about SKJ.

This team also "doesn't deserve to wear Kentucky on their chests."

I'm still waiting on those stats showing us that Dominique Hawkins can't play.
