College sports have got to change. Was talking with some friends last night. It is becoming pre pro and win at all costs. I can't imagine, after the Penn St situation, why this would be kept silent by university officials/coaches. Troubling for sure.

It may have been kept quiet because of Penn State. This is the first I've heard about thirty seven allegations of misconduct including apparently rape at Michigan State.
it took a hundred fifty allegations against a doctor on their staff to hear anything.
Penn State child abuse, Baylor rape and murder, North Carolina fake classes, Louisville hookers on campus and paying for players.
But UK is called a dirty program .Makes you wonder what the hell is going on.

          Arrogant.

Based on the evidence presented, he might not have a choice.

He absolutely won't have a choice. Even if he's found to be innocent.

When the President and the A.D. are fired, it's for one reason: to do a comprehensive review of multiple programs. At a time like that, the interim or replacement will lean HEAVILY to removing anyone for even a reasonable suspicion. Because, in the worst case, they have to honor the contract, and that will STILL be less of a cost than lawsuits, and subsequent insurance rate hikes.

But, regardless of righteousness, neither coach will have one bit of say in whether they are on campus tomorrow, let alone in the future.

            *********************************************

IMO, this is becoming the reckoning of the sports world. For decades, the only thing that has mattered to coaches is whether or not you could keep the coach from getting fired by winning games. Now, the coaches have to ask the question as to whether you will get them fired for what you do off the field. Given the fact that, quite frankly, a good number of top recruits come from less than ideal backgrounds, I suspect that coaches are going to have to weigh the one thing that I feel was among the last on their decision list: Character.

In this emerging world, coaches are going to have to recruit to mitigate risk ahead of time, instead of doing what Mich State, Baylor, and many, many, more have done, which is recruit the talent, and then work damage control while they're on campus. Because, if you recruit a guy who you suspect is going to have character problems, he's going to get into serious trouble, have to be dismissed, and you will lose games, and THEN be fired. At the same time, if you recruit multiple guys who can win games, and they get into serious trouble, the schools are going to fire you for that, as well. In the end, I suspect coaches at high profile schools are going to have much shorter tenures.

            JMO.

After seeing and hearing yesterday's interviews, I'm convinced Tom Izzo will be fired.

I always had Izzo pegged for a upright straight forward guy& held his coaching abilities in high regard -didn't always like them when we played against them but they were very effective!!!!

The Larry Nassar trial has opened up a full cam of worms about MSU and the basketball and football teams covering up reports of sexual assault, and domestic assault, by players.

if you Google search the ESPN Outside the lines report, you can read all about it. Former insiders at MSU are telling all.

the president and the AD have resigned, prememptively, I. The face of the damning evidence. Dantonio and Izzo are pretty much waiting for their pink slips.
