OK. Went and found the Izzo comments. Not exactly defending Dr. Scumbag but still a really odd comment to "hope the right guy was convicted" when there is no doubt. Does he think this is a case of mistaken identity? Weird.

UK is currently #345 in the NCAA in made three pointers. That may be the biggest problem this team has.

If you don't attempt many threes you need to drive it relentlessly, which Kentucky does only in pockets of the game. Sometimes we kind of play the between game: a guy taking an 18-footer, a weird post-up from 11 feet (Vanderbilt last night), a guy (usually Hami) getting the rotation pass and shooting a mid-range jumper he can't hit. Last night Shai took about five shots that he just can't hit, and each one seemed to be at a crucial time.

If you decide that you're not a team that takes threes, then be a power team and/or a slashing team. We don't really like the power game either, so we're sort of floating around in this netherworld where we don't really have an offensive identity.

We also turn the ball over at a very high rate, so not only are you not converting on those twos because they're not part of the sets, you aren't getting as many shots as you should.

It's kind of the trifecta of shaky offense.

I have mainly stayed away this basketball season due to the issues we are seeing and my negativity towards the state of the program at this time. The thing i have decided to do is to go on and pencil us in for the NIT as I personally do not think this team will be close to a tourney bid. They have beaten not one good team. They have a cancer on the team in Hami. He is for Hami only and does not care what happens to this team. Cal has decided he does not need vet players or players from Kentucky. He has put himself in that position. A loss for non Kentucky kids does not mean that much. No different than a loss in an AAU tourney. Heck they just worry if they got theirs. JV is not that way and some of the guys but when one of your vet players is HAMI then you know the team will follow that Vibe.

I am ready for SPRING FOOTBALL. I never would have thought those words would come out of my mouth but that is where we are.

Heck the last 3 games i have not even watched most of the games. I put on DIY or FOOD NETWORK and flip to the game during commercials. Look online and see what you guys are discussing. I think CAL is good but not great. I think he is to the point of making KY kids not even want to look at UK. I know if i was a talent from KY i would not even think about playing for CAL. Derrek Willis was no worse than Kevin Knox on D as a freshman and it took 1/2 through his JR year to see quality action.

Anyway. That is my rant for the day, week, month and maybe the remainder of the season. If i messed up some word i typed without my eyes on. SO flying blind. lol

Well they're at least going to be close. Unless you just have guys who quit playing then they'll be there for a bid.

It's just not going to be easy.

South Carolina was one of the last at-large teams last year at 23-10 and 12-6 in the SEC. This SEC is tougher and it's going to get seven teams in, so the last couple who get in are going to be 12-6 or maybe 11-7 in league play.

I like Holman from OSU a lot. By the time Cal leaves there will be others.

Cal will be a tough act to follow. But not impossible. It will be just different.

They'll be in the tourney. Not a high seed, probably, but they'll be in there. College basketball is pretty weak overall.

You don't know if this is true or not. Just because he's got a low basketball IQ and takes ill-advised shots doesn't mean he's selfish or a bad kid.

I've never understood the whole "gotta have a Kentucky kid" on the roster argument. Who cares?
