    I thought we were going to get more out of Gabriel as a freshman. I think he'll be fine, but I also think scouting services missed pretty bad on his ranking out of high school.

      You can definitely see where they were going.

      6'9" guy with length who can shoot from the outside with a high motor. That's the very prototype of what literally everybody is looking for.

      Like Poythress, he doesn't have that in-between skill you need. Not a good ball-handler. Plays hard but at times he negates that by being off-balance. Good shooter but almost no mid-range skill, and not a high enough level three-point shooter to be elite.

      Just "good" in a lot of ways. For this team to make a jump in that group of teams who have a legitimate shot at winning it all, both Gabriel and Washington are going to have to move from "good" to "very good."
