Would like to have taken that W, if only for seeding purposes, but it played out considerably different than I expected. We weren't just "hanging around" ... for a majority of the game, we were the aggressors and we were playing better than Kansas. And for a team starting five freshmen against a senior-laded Jayhawk group, I'd say it's pretty darn impressive. To say nothing of our ceiling, which seems a lot higher than Kansas'.
I'm disappointed in the loss, but optimistic about the potential.Comment

My impression is that KU is overrated, no way they are #4 team in country. With that said UK is much better than a lot of fans on here will admit. I actually believe this team will be better come March than last years team.Comment

The one real weakness that I see for this team is point guard. Get improvement there and the rest will fall in place.Comment

I’m pleased that we were in it. I crashed midway through the second half when things started getting RRRREALLY sloppy and the loose balls were all going Kansas’ way. Expected to wake to a much worse outcome.
Still think the team-wide effort will help us clear some hurdles on our way to March.Comment

I haven't seen the game as it was way too late for me. I'll try to watch it tonight. It sounded like they showed a lot grit and fight. Had multiple chances to roll over and die but didn't. You have to like that. Its really good to see SKJ playing as well as he has. That will be huge for this team. Most things seem correctable like the turnovers. Shooting will be the biggest concern all season. Probably don't have enough consistent shooters and this team will need to rely on defense to create good shots all season. Still a very encouraging game to play a veteran Kansas team within 4 points. UK may just face them again on down the road in March. Next few games should be for improvement and pile up some wins. Just keep improving every game and this team will be just fine when it really counts at the end of the season.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

I did watch most of the Duke game. Yes, Duke is really good. They won't lose over 3 games this season, if that. Also brace for Grayson Allen to be Player of the Year. If he keeps his head on straight all season he will be one of if not the best player in the country. Scoring 37 against Michigan State was very impressive.

Hard to say tell these things for sure because of the draw, and because you never know how high the ceiling is for such young players.
Who would've thought after the South Carolina loss in Julius Randle's year that we would be playing for a title a month later. That was severe, rapid, teamwide improvement.
I believe Jarred Vanderbilt will make a lot of guys' lives easier, especially PJ Washington who's being asked to do way too much right now. So that's the good.
The bad is that you don't have a lot of electric, NBA-ready talent on this team that Calipari usually has. So that obviously lowers your ceiling.Comment
