A Wake-Up Call for Anyone Still Sleeping on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Really intriguing player. Just have to hope he's physically ready for the grind.

I'm excited to see him play, but do we HAVE to use Gilgeous when referring to him? Ugh.

I think Frodo had to fight Gilgeous for the ring.

Cal said today at media day that Shai may be his starter at point guard.

        That's...pretty shocking.

I'm not sure. I've heard that rumor being bandied about ever since the kid stepped on campus. Rumblings that Quade Green is a bit behind the 8 ball, and this all but confirms it.

I still expect Green to start on October 30th, but I won't be shocked if we see Gilg... err, Alexander, either.

That doesn't surprise me at all. In fact, I won't be surprised in the least if Quade Green never starts a game.

News flash, folks: the kid is limited.

I was pretty impressed with him in the BBM scrimmage.

Granted, there isn't much to that scrimmage. But he can obviously handle the ball and keeps it crazy low to the ground. And I'd say the number of times we've had a four-time state champion at Kentucky you could count on one hand.

So he's a winner who plays with grit. That counts for something.

But if you don't have speed, and his numbers suggests he doesn't, you have to be able to knock down that three at this level. Hope he can keep the D honest.

His best days at UK might come after this season.

Cal has said that SGA has an old man's game. Sort of shocked to hear that given the position he plays. I am excited to see him play.
