My family went to St. Rita when I was a toddler. We lived off Old Shep, then moved out off Applegate Lane in Friendly Hills(Joyce Dr.). St. Rita had an awesome FB field. I was in St. Athanasius' first first grade in 1962. Place was directly in the middle of a cow pasture lol.

We're about the same age.
I played against those Lexington Catholic teams through those years. Vondale Morton was probably the best player I ever played against. (Fields IIRC was a little younger.) I shot a three from about 28 feet and Morton was standing at what had to be the dotted line in the paint. As soon as I shot it he went up and blocked it. It was crazy. My coach ripped me out and got me on the bench and said, "WE DIDN'T COME ALL THE WAY TO LEXINGTON TO WATCH YOU SHOOT THREES!"

I don't know, Mike Redd was a decent player too. Just not as famous.
Didn't Mike Redd play for Kentucky Wesleyan back in the late 60's. I watched him play and he was a great player. I believe he was drafted by the Celtics but never played. Not sure why.

[QUOTE=Ukatfan;n133254]Not sure of the year, but I think he played at Seneca after Unseld. I have no idea if he played in college. But he was certainly good enough.John 3:3

I went to Jennings County High in North Vernon, IN. Danny Brown and Billy Harmon both went to UL to play for Denny Crum. Both were later inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.Comment

Elizabethtown High School - Antwain Barbour on the boy's side. On the girl's side, probably Erin Boley. She was a McDonald's All-American a couple of years ago and played at Notre Dame before transferring after last year.Comment

Driving through town yesterday and seeing the street named after Becky McKinley reminded me that I neglected to include her as an honorable mention. Went on to play basketball at Bellarmine.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Bell County High School (KY). Graduated in the early oughts. Don't remember/haven't heard many big basketball names before my time, but while I was there we had a couple guys named Josh Brock and Trae Winkler who were fantastic ball players. Trae, especially, was a great athlete.Comment
