The rosters are very tight but IMO J.Jennings has a very solid team.
The idea of Monk and Murray out there with Cousins in the middle would be DEVASTATING.
The lack of a true point guard knocks him down a slight notch, but Davender could score. That's a very good team. Monk and Murray playing together is almost absurd to think about.
The comment about one-and-dones means little because those players are just as could and in most cases better than most UK greats. Issel, for instance, never went to a Final Four.
This isn't a shot at teamchemistry15 because he's one of my favorite posters, but it's rather just a point of disagreement. Wildcatnation.net as a site tends to vastly undersell how good one-and-dones are and over-exaggerate how much one-and-dones hurt you.Comment

Well the best thing about all of this regardless is that we get to semi re live players of the past and great moments of UK basketball. It's all good at the end of the day, how many points would the great shooters of the 50's and 60's averaged with a 3 point line? So many variables, it's hard to really say who when or what. They say Bill Spivey was the freak of all centers back then but we will never know how he would compare to guys today....👍 1Comment

Wow. With all this "discussion" going on, I wonder if we'll get many non drafters voting. We only have 2 or 3 so far. I posted a thread in the General Discussion Forum to try to get some voters, but this may stifle it a bit. Personally I had a bunch of fun drafting players and watching who others got..John 3:3

In the end I think the voting on this goes on generational lines. The older folks like me tend to take the players that were at UK 3 or 4 years. The younger ones tend to take more of the one year players. I took players I thought had the bigger impact on the overall program of who was available. I would have taken Davis even though he was only a year player but he wasn't around. I think he has been the first or 2nd pick both years we did this. If Delk had not been available for me I would have taken Murray. I'm not sure anyone could argue that Delk didn't have a bigger impact that Murray. College basketball has had a lot variables over the years. Three point line was a big change in 1987. Players before that had no opportunity with that. I can only imagine how many three's Louie Dampier would have made, not mention countless others pre-1987 players. Also the shot clock had big effect too. It has changed the game greatly how its played now as opposed to the no shot clock era. Now with UK exploiting the one and done players to the full extent possible it has added a whole new variable that has many of us wondering just how big an impact they really have. Someone like Davis is obvious. But what about someone like Trey Lyles who I think would have been one of the true greats at UK had he stayed three seasons. We can only speculate past his one year. Quite a few others fall into his category. But its good to have all of these great players to cuss and discuss about. We could be Ole Miss and have but a few to talk about and be wondering when football is starting.Kentucky fan since 1971.👍 1Comment

This is hands down the best, most believable, down to earth, filled with common sense post you have ever made. It couldn't be more true. I spent time looking back through old rosters, career statistics, and some old games. I am glad we had some good participation this year and really enjoy it. The complete contrast we have in some voters just shows what kind of program we have to enjoy because it shows the talent and depth we have in our history.👍 1Comment

Speaking of Ed Davender, i was actually at a Georgetown(KY) game back in the day and bumped into Davender standing in line to get a drink. All i could think about at the time was the "he looks bigger" on tv lol lol lol
Now with Kenny Sky Walker, i did have a few beers sitting beside him at the bar at the HYATT. SkyWalker must hold his alcohol pretty good because he jumped up on the podium and started doing a radio show live lol lol lol.Comment

You're going to make me blush. There's no doubt his lineup would be hard to stop. But I am not looking at this as a matchup game or who can score one on one like he mentioned. When it comes to one and done players there is no doubting or arguing their talent or impact. If we did a draft based on talent there is little doubt his roster would be towards the top. I drafted according to overall impact on the school and chose to not draft a one year player. I am neither under selling or exaggerating the impact/hurt one and done players bring but for the purpose of this draft I felt like outside of Davis and MKG my team would benefit more from guys who stuck around for a while and broke records. I noticed at least two other votes had his team at or towards the bottom. Hopefully that helps him understand my voting was not a personal attack against him. I can't be upset with a guy I have never seen in person.Comment

Something else i think about is a player like Mike Casey, how many points does he average with a 3 point line in place? I went to school with his daugher Laura and after he and his wife divorced a few years later, he bacame a neighbor of mine and was able to speak to him on a regular. From everything i have ever heard about him locally and throughout the history of UK, they say he was one of the best shooters ever at Kentucky and would have been a sure fire NBA players if not for his auto accident. If a great shooter like this could have traded the 2's for the 3's, does he average and score more than Issell all time?Comment

Well if you know anything about me, i am not dumb, im just always posting stir the pot stuff and playing devils advocate about 99.9% of the time. Why in the world would i choose to disagree with 99.9% of everything that everyone else agree on in these threads, someone has to be that guy. lol lol lol. The way i see it, it's the best way to bring out some excitement and ignite some crazy conversations lol lol...Comment
