I am not saying the Warriors suck. I am saying it wouldn't be automatic. All those teams i mentioned outside of Chicago had a really good center. The Warriors have no big man that matters, and don't even say zsa zsa.

I really hate to admit this but thos great 80's and 90's NBA teams who employed great post players and centers back then, they would lose in today's game. I don't think it has anything to do with the players, bu the system is different and the game is played different. Todays NBA teams now would love to trade you 2 for 3 and make a big center go out on the perimeter and guard which in essence, frees up the paint and takes away the rebounding edge.It also tires out a big center more who just can't camp in the post and relax...
As for the Warriors, i hate this team with a passion but let's be honest, they have perhaps two of the best shooters ever in Curry and Thompson and Durant is a 7 foot freak who can basically play all positions. Then you have that Dennis Rodman style player in Green who just disrupts everything and gets in the head of the other team. Throw in the fact that IGGY was a top 10 star in Philadelphia for years until he decided to sacrifice stats for Championships along with David West who at one time was one of the most consistent NBA scorers year after year. Livingston finally got healthy aftter a rough start to his career and now you have a 6'7 three way player who can do many things. I loved the 80's C's and respected the Lakers and the Bulls of the 90's but in all reality, Golden State is a tough matchup period.The fact that Cleveland employs of the best to ever play the game along with the freak Kyrie makes it worth while watching........

Under the old illegal defense rules, you were not allowed to double a player without the ball. It basically guaranteed that on any isolation, you could have a second or so to attack against single coverage. For great iso scorers, this was often more than enough to get yourself in a position where no amount of help defense could stop you. If a player wasn't within a arms length away from someone for 3 seconds, it was illegal defense. Now teams can basically do whatever they want defensively...............Comment

The Warriors don't need a big man that matters, when they can put up 60 points in a quarter and they have a seven footer that plays like a guard. The game has changed, for better or worse. Which is one of the reasons why these Warriors would run roughshod over most of those older teams that you want to mention. Different level of skill, athleticism, speed, and strength. The top of those rosters (Bird, Magic, Jordan, Pippen, Hakeem, etc) could easily contend with the best players today, but there is a lot more skill, depth and athleticism all the way down the bench in today's NBA.Comment

I don't think anybody here is claiming to be a Warriors fan; the folks like myself are just trying to explain how good they are. It's no knock against the great teams of NBA past. It's just that these Warriors are THAT good. JWorld pointed out the bench/role players the Warriors have and that is why they
are so good. The Cavs guys are just garbage compared to the Warriors'. It was just a few seasons ago that OKC had Durant, Westbrook and Harden and couldn't win it because they had zero bench. Those 3 guys are Top 5 in the league right now. You need a solid bench to win it in any level of basketball.Isaiah 5:20Comment
