I refused to watch the final game. Carolina should not have been playing and I am done with college basketball. Corrupt as it can be. There were 3 calls in our game with the cheaters that led to baskets given and taken away and if those calls were made correctly we would have won 75-71...Screw Carolina and the NCAA.

More like they were the team that didn't lose.

That was the worst basketball game I have seen in quite some time. The officiating mucked it up, but neither team played at a high level. Both looked like they were trying to lose and made stupid play after stupid play. The game matched the poo brown, ugly @$$ court they put in the football stadium for the FF. ugh!

I would think CBS would call the NCAA right about now and demand that the officiating get fixed.

As long as people continue to watch, both in person and on tv, in sufficient numbers to satisfy the networks, that carry the games, things will continue on as they are. And I'm not just talking about the Big Dance games, but regular season and conference tournament games as well.

For the first time in years I didn't watch the title game--not out of any kind of protest, we were just doing something else.

Removing the academic scandal for a moment, that's three national championships in thirteen seasons for Roy Williams. He's done it each time by putting together a very good team that fell short and then returning large parts of that same team the next season for a run.

In the one-and-done era he's kind of done it in a more traditional way.

We can complain, until we're blue in the face (no pun intended), about the fact that it appears UNC has gotten away with murder with the African American Studies classes and about the poor officiating but, as I stated in another post, as long as college bb continues to draw the number of fans it draws, don't expect anything to change.

In your opinion, is Roy's traditional way better than Cal's one and done?

If we're using championships as the metric, then Roy's way is better than anybody's way.

But Carolina did have a ton of talent. Five McDonald's All-Americans, one of the most skilled offensive players (Jackson) they've had in that program in the last decade, a great all-ACC point guard.

So it wasn't like they had average Joes. They just didn't have guys who jumped off the page NBA-wise. The NBA for one reason or another has really never loved Justin Jackson. Kennedy Meeks was always too overweight.

Great system players but not pros. That may be the winning formula in college basketball...but you still have to have McDonald's All-Americans to run it properly.
