Nope. Preseason rankings will determine next year's NCAA field. ACC will have around 7 ranked teams. Their losses will cost them nothing because their losses are in the only good conference in basketball--just great teams beating up great teams. They'll get at least 9 bids, under perform, rinse and repeat. We'll get 4 or 5 teams in as every loss in the SEC will knock each team back several slots.

Again, I disagree. When you're playing for a spot in the FF against UNC and you have a 6-7 point lead with 5+ minutes to go DOES NOT mean you have total control of the game. UNC went on what, a 10-12 point run in a short amount of time? That's where I disagree with Cals style of play. He likes to slow down and drag it out and I would have my guys with their petal to the floor but hey, I'm not a coach for a good reason lol.

If any part of the ball is above the rim and it is touched it is goaltending. Part of the ball was over the edge of the rim. It doesn't matter that it was calling out. What matters is part of it was still above the rim. They probably shouldn't have called the second foul on Willis but if you watch the replay he clearly grabbed Berry's wrist. They should've called a foul on the last possession of the first half and they missed an over the back on Meeks when Briscoe had him boxed out. Please tell me how else the referees were terrible, other than calling the game tighter than you like.

So did Cal's style of play cost us the game or the referees?

Some of what you're saying I agree with but I feel like it was called much tighter against us than it was against UNC.

The Justin Jackson run out layup was the dagger.

I mean, I guess technically you're right. We DID have one more foul than UNC so it wasn't exactly the same. They shot seven more free throws and out rebounded us by ten. We hit 63% from the free throw line.

Correct. The dunk by UNC was the only goaltending call that was even questionable.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I said control, not total control. In my opinion, our not taking advantage of the situation, when UNC went to the zone and we had the lead and momentum, was a major bungle on our part.

We committed 19 fouls to their 18.

We never had a 7 point lead or a 6 point lead.

I agree 100%. I felt that right there was the opportunity for KY to really put UNC behind the 8 ball. But we didn't and I feel that this costed us the game.

If I'm not mistaken, it was five points. We had the lead and momentum, and the zone took befuddled us.

In the second half at the 5:12 mark Hump hit a jumper that put KY up by 5 points 64-59. So you are right we didn't have a 6 or 7 point lead.

What a game! I am so proud of our Cats! There were some bad calls but we also gave a lead away, and our "stars" began to show up down the stretch with not enough time on the clock.
Looking forward to next year's squad, curios to see who comes back, if any. I hope Huphries after this game sees he has an opportunity to start next year-don't transfer, compete for a spot.

Happy for Coach Martin, I do want them to take out Gonzaga, but I'm rooting for UNC to win the championship because of what happen to them last year.
