First thing's first: find a way to disrupt Justin Jackson's rhythm. I guess we start with Willis?

Good luck with that. Willis has been playing well offensively lately as well as rebounding. He is not a very good defender though. He was having a tough time with Leaf last night then all of a sudden Leaf just disappeared. Jackson is a different animal though. Where Leaf will kill you down low, not only can Jackson do that but he is crafty as far as getting off his jumper. He has a very quick release and is as good of a shooter as they come. It will be a tall order, IMO.

Derek's defense has improved dramatically. But asking him to guard Jackson might be a bit much. I think you put Briscoe on him and hope the height difference is made up for by his toughness.

Willis is going to have to rebound. Bam will be outnumbered big time. I fully expect UNC to force the ball inside and try to draw fouls on Bam. May be a night where Humphries will have to play quite a few minutes. And Gabriel showing up would be very helpful as well.

If the Hump has to play quite a few minutes we're in big trouble, in my opinion.

Not necessarily. Hicks, Bradley and Meeks aren't exactly offensive machines. But they do rebound like crazy. If he can beat and bang, use some fouls and keep them off the boards somewhat he can be very useful.

Briscoe "guarded" Jackson the last time and we all know what Jackson did.

Could it be that Leaf "disappeared" because Willis played better defense?

You've got to get back against Carolina. They run off of makes as much as they do misses. They'll take it out of the net and be up the left side of the court and before you can get set they'll have scored.

Also have to box them off. They've been the best rebounding team in the country virtually since Williams got there, probably because they always have about seven big men. If we let them get on the glass on us we can't win.

Not as worried about Jackson as I am Berry. Seems like Jackson is almost always going, but when they've lost it's because Berry has struggled.

I worry about anyone that has put up 30+ points against us.

Nah. They went away from Leaf. It became all about getting Alford involved and Hamilton and Holiday shooting 3's. Probably helped that Welsh was in foul trouble as well.

Would be nice to see good Gabriel show back up. (he was great for like three games mid season)

I don't see how we keep them off the boards.... I was pessimistic about UCLA, I am more so about this game.

Play hard be physical and hope Bam stays out of foul trouble.

This sums it up well. Rebounding is my big concern. Hope Bam eats his Wheaties. Need a good game from him, and no foul troubles.

Agree on Jackson. I think shutting him down is a dream. Guys with his size and skill are tough. I expect him to get his 20-25. Can't have Berry do the same.. Hopefully Fox and Monk are on their game and can force Berry to really work on defense.

We beat them in rebounding the first time.

They said today they're going to try and get Bam in foul trouble. Clearly if that happens then we're in a world of hurt, although Humphries is going to have to play and played well against them in the first game.

But he has to be at least a presence and then you have to hope the backcourt can at least approach what it did last night.

That game was so wacky, I don't think it is predictive of anything.
