Probably consulting with the Skipper and Mary Ann to see if it really happened.

      Think about this

      78 Givens and Casey
      96 Epps
      98 Mills and Padgett
      2012 Miller

This year, could it be Willis and Hawkins?

What would you like for me to comment on? Hawkins had ahis career game yesterday. I was there to see it live. He played his off. He helped us win.

That doesn't change my opinion of his talent. I've always liked Hawkins. He never gets in trouble. He is always well spoken. he plays to the best of his ability.

None of that has anything to do with his talent level.

There's 1000's of Ky players that would have gone to UK and never been in trouble and would have represented the university well. And maybe if they had a career game they would help us win.

None of that would make them into an all American.

As for the guys being from Ky, I couldn't care less. I want the best players on the floor even if they come from the moon.

The dookie Matt Jones apparently caused this thread. What in the world would he know about a dyed in the wool UK fan? he as big a pretender as Jay Bias.

Do you say this only because he went to Duke Law, or do you think you know something that the rest of us don't? Either way, you're as wrong now as you were the last time you brought this up.

Matt Jones may get a little off the wall at times and I get it, controversy sells. Regardless, Jones bleeds blue and loves these Cats as much as any of us, he's alright by me...

Matt Jones is not a Duke homer. Many may not like him for his political stance, where he went to school but I think he has been great for UK basketball. He makes things interesting on the radio, the web-site has a ton of followers, and I have met him several times and he seems like a very good guy.

I have no feelings either way for the guy - his radio show is lazy, and I think KSR sometimes becomes unreadable. But I have no doubts he loves UK and lives a lot of people's dream. HIs post-game call-in show is pretty entertaining if I'm in the car after a game.

Agreed. KSR is good for about one solid post a day, depending on who's in charge on that particularly day. If it's Drew Franklin, the number goes up; if Tyler Thompson, I check out almost immediately and my interest depends solely on the worth of the news. Drew is hilarious but Tyler is as bland and boring as it gets. Her efforts to sound hip and cool are painfully disingenuous.

The rest of their "staff" isn't even worth a mention. Just sloppy writing and rehashed takes from top to bottom. But at the end of the day it remains the most reliable source of UK news, so it holds my attention well enough.

Jones is such a UK homer I can't even stand to listen to him. He is very far from a Duke homer. Anyone who believes that is crazy. He is letting politics get too much involved. He has a great niche going with UK but he could ruin by being too political.
                      Kentucky fan since 1971.

Jones might not care. It's no coincidence that he posts so infrequently on the site. If I had to guess, I'd say he'll phase out his participation altogether by the next time there's an opportunity to run for office* and Drew Franklin will take over completely.

*Depending on the success of his New Kentucky project, or whatever it's called.

I have a whole other opinion of M Jones after listening to the talk he gave at Southland Christian Church. I don't like some of his politics, but I think he is genuinely a good person. And as much as I don't like call in shows, his post game shows keep me company driving home from games
