Really? We win on the road with SEC officials and Monk having his lowest scoring game of the season and that's the only positive you get?

This is a fantastic basketball team. Well coached, great players. Clutch players that aren't scared of the moment.

26-5 on the season. 16-2 in the SEC.

    I just don't get some of y'all.

In this thread some were bragging on Kennedy as a coach. What's their record? And they have 2 NBA players on their team. Seems some UK fans can't see the forest for the trees.

I definitely like the idea of pressing to start and for certain segments of the game. This team is best at a fast pace in every way.

And that's what I call keeping it all the way real, no bs, straight to the point and spot on.

Didn't watch the game today but a win is a win. My problem more than anything that I see is that we seem to make easy wins hard to get, just need to see a killer instinct and I will feel a lot better moving forward.

              That was me.

They have one surefire NBA player. Not sure about the center but he's a big body and pretty skilled.

The problem: nothing at guard. This is a sport where you can have ferocious interior players, but if you have no point guard play you just will not win at a high level. We all saw what they had to go to at back-up point guard.

I don't want Kennedy as the coach at Kentucky or anything crazy like that but I like him.

26-5 and 16-2 is pretty darn strong any way you cut it. We're winning ugly, but we finished the season on a 7 game win streak. Not many teams out there can say that. I'm thrilled.

This team for all its warts and flaws just put up a heck of a regular season all things considered. I wish they could have continued to blow teams out but they learned how to win brutal games and they had to fight through some adversity. Injuries, illnesses, guys having to play not 100%.

If you want to look at it glass half full, the superteam we had that lost to Wisconsin should never have been 18-0 at the end of the SEC season. They had to win those first two games in overtime in miracle fashion. Had no business winning either of those games.

                  This team finished at 16-2.

I'm pleased. We have a shot and that's all you can ask.

Both of those guys are NBA players. One is a lottery pick.

And yes, you need other players but they are something like 16-15 on the season and 8-10 in the SEC. A supposedly weak SEC that some UK fans are disappointed that we went 16-2 in.

With 2 NBA players he should be better than that. I don't necessarily disagree that's he's a good coach but the ball don't lie.

                      It is a great record.

But we are limping offensively. ING behind to inferior teams by enormous amounts is an awful habit. And starting next week, there are no 2nd chances.

Maybe the rest and refocus time going into tournament season is what they need.

J.J. Caldwell being ruled ineligible blew a hole in their team.

17 assists to 6 turnovers is limping offensively?

We are a much improved team from the beginning of the season. 7-2 on the road in the SEC playing everyone's super bowl and T shirt night.

Monk had a bad scoring game and we win anyway?

My favorite team of all time, the 1978 team, lost 2 SEC road games. One was a total embarrassment at Alabama. Stuff like that happens on the road. Especially against SEC teams that build their whole season around playing UK.

Again today, 17 assists to 6 turnovers. And out point guard is nursing a sore knee.

Much improved since beginning of the season? Ok. Now you're just trolling.

ID:	115930 If Calipari actually said to the team that this was a "throwaway game, just go play" then maybe he needs to back and reevaluate his commitment to coaching here. That is just ludicrous.

We've improved defensively recently, that's for sure. Hawkins getting more minutes is part of that, but some of the issues we were seeing earlier haven't come up as much.

Offensively it's clear we go as Monk goes, but one big thing this team has to deal with are these sloughing defenses every night. It takes awhile to crack those. You have to probe, work, and kind of stretch them out.

The good news is that those kinds of defense work better for the home team. Crowd gets excited, the rims tighten, and you can kind of slough like crazy.

It's a little tougher to play that way on neutrals because the possessions become so much more crucial. A couple of made shots might work teams out of the slough.
