Lots of negatives to take away from this game, but I'm going to focus on the positives: Cal's "refuse to lose" attitude was apparent in the second half, especially when it was clear that Vandy wasn't going to just lay down.

Gutsy win and a great performance by Vandy. They just didn't have the horses at the end.

Vandy probably has more high school class valedictorians than 5 star players but can always play us a tough game!!!!! Have a grudging admiration for the way they seem to always play a vs the Cats!!!!!

Since this was a late game I haven't seen most of it. I went to bed when they were down 25-9. Vandy was hitting everything and UK couldn't hit the side of the proverbial barn. It was good they came back like they did. It showed they that played for 40 minutes and didn't give up. You can't get down like that most of the time and get away with it but it does show some good team character in coming back. Briscoe did not have a turnover last night. He needs to play more with a bad thumb. Monk came up in the clutch again. If UK goes anywhere in this NCAA he is going to have to have a big game every night out.
UK clinches a share of the SEC. It's their 48th title. Also clinched the number one seed in the SEC tourney. So you can start looking at when they play next week. A trip to College Station ends the regular season. Basically a meaningless game other than for seeding purposes. If Florida loses tonight it will mean almost nothing.

Great comeback! This team is starting to show some grit. I don't care what the experts say but this conference is tougher than it seems. THE PRESS! We looked good in it. To be fair, Cal HAD to go to it. I am hoping we see more of it. Just when we were starting to defend the 3 ball better, Vandy squashed that momentum. I will just chalk it up to Vandy doing Vandy things. Still. I will have an uneasy feeling if we get a sharpshooting team in the Big Dance. It's fairly obvious now that if Monk is off that we are toast. Maybe he can start putting TWO halves together.

Sometime in the first 10 minutes.

I wasn't as worried then as I was in the second half. We came out and cut it to 4, then Vandy scored on its next six or seven possessions and we got down by 9. I was beginning to think we were in trouble at that point.
