The offense has been offensive compared to where it was. The defense has gotten worse as the season has wore on. Our 2nd half defense was good today though and we hit the boards. I am still surprised at that ranking though.

Those are season long numbers and updated after every game.

It's not saying how good or bad the offense or defense is. It's saying how they both compare to the rest of the D-1 teams in the country.

As was noted on the pregame show, what we see as a bad defense is happening with every team because of the rules of the game today. Once the offensive player starts moving with the ball you cannot touch him. .

I don't like it either but we are a top 10 defensive team in the country by the numbers.

But, the defense has not gotten worse. The opposition has gotten better.

After the game, I think it was Mike who said there are only 2 teams in the country in the top 10 in offensive and defensive efficiency. They are Kentucky and Gonzaga.

That may be correct? I just copied that from another site. Didn't proof it. But even with all the whining this team is top 10 in both.

After yesterday's games Gonzaga is the only team in the top ten in both.

Kentucky is 10th in offense and 11th in defense.

For the sake of reference the 2014 Kentucky team finished 14th in offense and 32nd in defense. The 2011 Brandon Knight team finished 8th in offense and 18th in defense.
